The Bible claims an Exodus took place. Many state it was not an actual event. Since the Bible makes a positive claim, in that an 'Exodus" took place, do we have positive evidence to support the claim?
For Debate:
1. Outside the Bible saying so, do we have evidence? If so, what?
2. If it should turn out that the Exodus did not take place, does this fact sway the Christian believer's position at all? Or, does it not matter one way or another?

In case anyone is wondering... The avatar quote states the following:
"I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness."

Post #251All you continue to offer is more excuse(s) as to why there exists no evidence to support the claim that millions of folks inhabited an area and was enslaved for hundreds of years. Did you happen to watch the video from post 8 and also see the follow-up in post 75, just for starters?marke wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 8:40 pmYou may think a claim so big wold leave lots of evidence but that is an opinion you will have a hard time proving. Take fossils of dinosaurs in the Sahara desert, for example. There seems to be little debate that millions of dinosaurs once roamed what is now the Sahara but it was only recently that a significant find was finally uncovered in what has been described as the "Holy Grail" researchers had been fruitlessly looking for for a very long time.

Very few dinosaur fossils from the late Cretaceous period, about 100 to 66 million years ago, have been unearthed on the African continent.
Discovered in the Sahara Desert in Egypt, Mansourasaurus is the most complete dinosaur skeleton from the late Cretaceous era (66 to 100 million years ago) ever found in Africa.
The remains include scattered bits of the creature’s vertebrae, skull, lower jaw, ribs, and leg bones.
Mansourasaurus is a titanosaur, a group which included some of the biggest land animals ever to have lived.
“When I first saw pics of the fossils, my jaw hit the floor,” said study co-author Matt Lamanna of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.
“This was the Holy Grail* — a well-preserved dinosaur from the end of the Age of Dinosaurs in Africa — that we palaeontologists had been searching for a long, long time.”

There is evidence of Jewish presence in Egypt from ancient times through the late third century CE:
The Ibscha Relief
A mid-19th century BCE tomb painting that depicts a group of people from Canaan or the surrounding area arriving in Egypt. The painting shows the group's skin color, hair, beards, clothes, and items they are carrying.

More of the same from the rest of your responses. I suggest you watch the video to get yourself up to speed and then circle back so we can have a real discussion.

Post #255I don't feel led to watch an indoctrinationist video. We can discuss the individual points ourselves or we can allow the video propagandist to propagate his ideas on others without our participation.POI wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 3:28 amOkay.

Post #256Um, okay? You can address some of the points listed in post 75, but the video also provides more context, as to not waste time.

Post #257Readers:
Do you find it telling that a person will go to such lengths as to invent new words to slander a group of people, just so they can avoid having to listen to or address their points?

Re: The Exodus! Did it Really Happen?
Post #260Ok, so the questions that I took from your post [Replying to POI in post #75] were not actually from the video? I think they could be answered without watching the poor atheist propaganda.
