Re: Does Hell Exist?
Post #202Didn't you realize that "hell" is actually the grave, and "Gehenna" is a metaphor for complete destruction? So "hell" exists for all mankind, those that go to their grave. A fiery hell does not exist.Capbook wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 1:12 amGehenna I mean. And do you believe it's real?JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 3:24 amThat depends in what you mean by hell. And what you mean by exist.Capbook wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 1:44 amThe title of the thread is, "Does Hell Exist"? Is you answer yes then?JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 4:43 amTotal destruction is real. The literal place was'just used by Jesus as a symbol of total destruction. Something can be real but not literal.

Post #204JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 8:39 pmYes.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 8:39 pm Dis Jesus not say God is a God of the living, not of the dead?
Would you care to explain why he said that when Abraham, Jacob and Isaac were at that time dead?
Yes. And once it is abolished no one will be dead.
Did this curse appear out of nowhere?JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 8:39 pm How can death be refered to as a miracle from God. Je it not rather a course from our first parents? (Ses Romans 5:12)
Not only did God create death he will also destroy it.
All of God’s creation is a miracle including death and the abolishing of death.
Psa 139:8
If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell (sheol), behold, thou art there.
Peace.

Re: Does Hell Exist?
Post #205What does it matter when Jesus said that, does God change?
JAMES 1:17 - ERV
Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky. But God never changes like the shadows from those lights. He is always the same.
No it appeared due to the disobedience of Adam ; is God a God of the disobedient? (Romans 5:12)
Why would God destroy something he created ; unless he made something bad or useless ? Does God make bad useless things?
JAMES 1:17 - JUB
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights

That’s an interesting two-part question.
Are you suggesting that who, what, where, when, and why Jesus says something doesn’t matter? Or is it just “when” he said it that doesn’t matter?
And no, God does not change.
So it appeared out of nowhere?JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 2:09 pmNo it appeared due to the disobedience of Adam ; is God a God of the disobedient? (Romans 5:12)
God didn’t create death?
And are you trying to say God is not the God of Adam? Is that what you would have us believe?
You say he does.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 2:09 pmWhy would God destroy something he created ; unless he made something bad or useless ? Does God make bad useless things?

Post #207Neither: I am suggesting that the reason for making truthful statements about God's fundamental nature, do not change the nature itself.
Is there a part of "No" you are having trouble understanding?EBA wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 2:06 pm Did this curse appear out of nowhere?

No, God created life; death is simply the absence of life.
Correct: BY his (Adam's) rebellion he proved he had another god.
PHILIPPIANS 3:18, 19
...there are many—I used to mention them often but now I mention them also with weeping—who are walking as enemies of the torture stake of the Christ. 19 Their end is destruction, and their god is their belly, and their glory is really their shame, and they have their minds on earthly things
That is an untrue statement.

Re: Does Hell Exist?
Post #208I understand what “no” means.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:06 pm Is there a part of "No" you are having trouble understanding?
What I don’t get is why when I asked “So it appeared out of nowhere?”
You replied:
Now we don’t need to be scholars to understand that “out of” and “due to” are not the same thing.
But then you had to get snarky and say something like this:
I think the misunderstanding was on your part.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:06 pmIs there a part of "No" you are having trouble understanding?
I will give you credit though you went on to explian that:
Ok, so did death exist before the creation of man or is it a just a byproduct of life?JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:06 pm-God created life; death is simply the absence of life.
What it proved was Adam’s disobedience.EBA wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 2:06 pmAnd are you trying to say God is not the God of Adam?
JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:06 pmCorrect: BY his (Adam's) rebellion he proved he had another god.
God certainly is the God of Adam.
Sounds to me like your first question answered your second.JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:06 pmWhy would God destroy something he created ; unless he made something bad or useless ? Does God make bad useless things?
So tell me, do you think God is going to destroy death in the lake of fire?
What about hades; will he destroy that?
What about people?
Peace.
