Hi all,
The thing about creation is that we do it every moment.
- I look at a lump of matter and make it into my wife every day of my marriage.
- Apparently, there is a bunch of atoms that I recognise every day how to get back to and I call it my home.
The day you are not a creationist, you likely have lost your mind.
Are you a creationist? Thoughts?
Are you a creationist?

Re: Are you a creationist?
Post #22I'm a bit saddened to know you refer to your wife as a lump of matter. Considering Christian teachings, maybe I shoulda expected it.
Oh man, when you find out you're a bunch of atoms...- Apparently, there is a bunch of atoms that I recognise every day how to get back to and I call it my home.
Of course, those who reject your particular brand of religious beliefs must have lost their minds. The day you are not a creationist, you likely have lost your mind.
It can't possibly be your never having one to lose.
No.Are you a creationist?
Do you also stay up late hoping to catch Santa fetching down the chimney?Thoughts?

Post #23I think I agree, if that means Genesis literalists, really. At least you sign up to that honestly instead of trying bamboozle us with clumsy repeated equivocations that fool nobody, probably not even himself.We_Are_VENOM wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 9:24 amChristians are Gen 1 type of creationists.Wootah wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 8:03 pm Hi all,

Post #24I agree with Aquinas on this. Creation = causing to exist from no thing. Make = causing to exist from things.Wootah wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 8:03 pm Hi all,

So you make things, not create things.
So although I am a creationist because I believe God caused something from no thing, an atheist might not be a creationist.

Re: Are you a creationist?
Post #25I think I agree. in the context of the thread and forum, it is the idea of making something from nothing rather than fabricating something from mterial there already. But I can see some kinds of ID also dabble in directed evolution.AquinasForGod wrote: ↑Sat Nov 19, 2022 2:50 pmI agree with Aquinas on this. Creation = causing to exist from no thing. By creationism I mean we all take matter which is meaningless and apply words to it and create things.

I think I make a cake from a recipe but whoever invented the recipe created the recipe itself.
I am feeling that you are making a distinction without a difference. Yes, God creates from nothing - we cannot. But in the image of God we are creators, primarily through childbirth but generally through our mind being applied to matter.

Re: Are you a creationist?
Post #28I think you are missing the vital distinction; creators are not creationists, nor are creationists concerned with human (or animal) creators, other than as an analogy to try to argue that if everything had to come from some first start, a big invisible human had to have Created it.Wootah wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:21 pm [Replying to AquinasForGod in post #24]

Re: Are you a creationist?
Post #29Then we would only be creators by analogy, which I think atheists could agree with in the sense they could say, okay yeah if there is a being that creates from nothing, then in this way we are creators by analogy.Wootah wrote: ↑Sun Nov 20, 2022 4:21 pm [Replying to AquinasForGod in post #24]

They don't have to agree that God is real to agree with the analogy.

What does creators by analogy mean?
For instance God is omnipotent but we, made in the image of God, do have power.
Its just a scale or spectrum.
So because God creates from nothing doesn't mean we dont create at all.
