Can you guess what it is?
They have all been told the same things from the same books from the same lectures every day of every week of their lives and nothing on earth would ever change their minds, except if those people in a position of power and influence opened their minds and told not what they "know" to be true, but what is true.

Change in the Muslim community can only come from the Muslim community. A hermetically sealed community that is designed to be impervious from outside influence has no chance to change, ever. Unless those in power see that there is no end to this path and decide to alter their course, there will be no change.

All those things you mentioned. Also -- they are men.

:-k

Videos of Muslims praying in the mosque -- all men.
Muslims in here trying to proselytize us -- men.
Muslims ranting about the glories of Islam -- men.

For some reason you don't often hear women talking about what a blessing it is to be born into Islam... the robes and cover ups, living your entire life in a bubble with their co-wives, totally subservient to men who can legally beat them (and do) and who can divorce them by making a short statement three times in a row.

Yeah, what a blessing.

I specifically strayed from talking about the effect Muslim culture has on its women as I was saving it for another topic but yes, I doubt many Muslim women share the viewpoint that Muslim men have about the blessing they have received to be Muslim.

Obviously this is a blanket statement and I don't doubt for a second that there are not perfectly happy and rightfully content Muslim women out there. The majority who live their lives in quiet servitude and humble unquestionable obedience probably would not feel blessed if they could live one day as a western woman.
