Canadian youth hockey coach arrested for tripping player in postgame handshake line
It's an incident that seems as un-Canadian as anything imaginable: A youth hockey coach in British Columbia has been arrested after being accused of tripping a 13-year-old opponent in a handshake line after the teen had helped defeat the alleged perpetrator's squad.
Warning before viewing the short clip: The following is a hockey incident, not for the faint-hearted!
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/highschoo ... 32663.html
Now I have watched hockey, especially the famous Bob Probert on the Red Wings since I was a teen, and I must say that I have never witnessed such a thing in hockey as what I have seen hit the news today on Yahoo. I mean who was this coach anyways, a Christian? How could he slip on the ice tripping that poor unsuspecting, unprepared child?
My question for the OP
The coach was arrested, and ‘eye-witnesses’ were called in (I guess the video cannot be trusted on this), so what (in your opinion) should be done with this coach?
Have we lost the concept of right and wrong?

Post #2Since the kids will look up to this coach as their role model, they too will begin acting in this way, so it would be prudent to make an example of that coach for all the kids to see and let them know this kind of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.arian wrote: On Yahoo News

Not be tolerated, .. I understand, like what they did with the crooks in 'Enron', who stole their daddies and grandpas life savings, .. makes sense, thank you.
The kid did fall, ... on the ice, ... AFTER playing hockey, .. how terrible is that? Have you ever watched kids playing baseball? The parents (who by the way often coach the teams) get in some serious cussing and even fights, right in front of their kids. I guess they should be shot, right?
The kids will start acting that way too? Are you saying that what kids see adults do, or make can ‘influence’ them? Come on, … I mean all them violent video games, movies, internet pornography, … influence kids? If you believe that, those adult game designers would all be in prison or on death row by now, not sitting in their multy-million dollar homes.
PS
I am amazed that you were allowed to answer my post? You must have some authority behind you! Thank you.

He was tripped by the other teams coach. You even said so yourself. The kid who fell broke his wrist, how acceptable is that? The kid did fall, ... on the ice, ... AFTER playing hockey, .. how terrible is that?
You appear to have quite the extreme way handling things. Is that what you would do to them?Have you ever watched kids playing baseball? The parents (who by the way often coach the teams) get in some serious cussing and even fights, right in front of their kids. I guess they should be shot, right?
Yes, that's one way kids get influenced, by the actions of adults. The kids will start acting that way too? Are you saying that what kids see adults do, or make can ‘influence’ them?
Are you saying that kids are unable to distinguish reality from fantasy? Kids can't tell if a video game is fantasy and people are actually killing other people, that they can't tell when an adult trips a boy on the ice unexpectedly with the result being a broken wrist?Come on, … I mean all them violent video games, movies, internet pornography, … influence kids? I tingle that you're amazed. Thank you, too.PS

If a teen hockey player breaks his wrist tripping, he never should have got on the ice, never mind play hockey. Besides, who says he broke his wrist? The kid jumped up ready to kick the coaches butt! But he didn’t and this is what made the coach look so bad, I doubt he will ever live it down.A Troubled Man wrote:He was tripped by the other teams coach. You even said so yourself. But to arrest him, come on? LOL
Extreme was the reason I posted it, I’m just pointing out the ‘extreme’ and asked ‘what would you do?’A Troubled Man wrote:You appear to have quite the extreme way handling things. There you go with the broken wrist again, what’s next, gang-green and amputation? “World News: Boy was tripped playing hockey, … looses both arms!A Troubled Man wrote:arian wrote: Come on, … I mean all them violent video games, movies, internet pornography, … influence kids? First rule to kids starting baseball, ‘slide to home-base!’ Sure it will hurt and in the beginning might even take a bunch of skin off the thighs, but hey, you’ll get over it kid.
As for the difference in reality in someone getting shot in real life compared to having a camera follow the bullet as it hits its target with the sound of ripping flesh and shattering bones in a video game or movie is agreeably very different. The difference is like knowing people have been gassed to death, compared to putting on a gas-mask and witness it first hand standing there with the people being gassed, as they gasp for air, scream while holding on to their loved ones.
Get ‘real’ my friend, the movies and video games are! Lady Gaga actually wears real-meat dresses and has a real cows-heart in her mouth dripping real blood. Fantasy? Oh you know well it’s not just.
Besides, Air force pilots and soldiers first practice on video games, and they agree that the ‘real-kill’ is boring compared to the video games. ‘Pop-pop!’ and the man is down, didn’t even see the bullet enter, nor hear the bones crunch.
Please, … don’t mention it. But really, thanks again.A Troubled Man wrote:I tingle that you're amazed. Thank you, too.arian wrote:PS

Remember the rules: "There is no God"
Using Scripture is preaching.
If you are asked for evidence of God, you better not have one.
The Scriptures have been fulfilled everyone bows down to the beast.
Rev 13:4
4 So they worshiped the dragon who gave authority to the beast; and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?"
NKJV
Rev 13:6-8
6 Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
NKJV
It would be wise to see how the Nazis came into power, they summoned the Dragon through mediums and made a pact with him ... only later they killed the mediums breaking the pact. They have healed from their mortal wound and once again taken up the offer Jesus rejected:
Luke 4:5-7
5 Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. 6 And the devil said to Him, "All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. 7 Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours."
NKJV
Oh how my heart bleeds for the people on this forum, you have no idea who you are rejecting? I mean; Somebody name an entity more evil than God? I tell you, you all are holding hands with him, that old Serpent the Dragon himself. The movie 'Hell Boy" is as clear a message as one can make, but remember folks, a day of judgement is rapidly approaching and no mountain is big enough or tunnel deep enough to hide from Him that comes in the name of the Lord.
Rev 6:12-17
12 And I saw the Lamb break open the sixth seal. There was a violent earthquake, and the sun became black like coarse black cloth, and the moon turned completely red like blood. 13 The stars fell down to the earth, like unripe figs falling from the tree when a strong wind shakes it. 14 The sky disappeared like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was moved from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth, the rulers and the military chiefs, the rich and the powerful, and all other men, slave and free, hid themselves in caves and under rocks on the mountains. 16 They called out to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the eyes of the one who sits on the throne and from the anger of the Lamb! 17 The terrible day of their anger is here, and who can stand up against it?"
TEV
Rev 16:19-21
19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of all countries were destroyed. God remembered great Babylon and made her drink the wine from his cup — the wine of his furious anger. 20 All the islands disappeared, all the mountains vanished. 21 Huge hailstones, each weighing as much as a hundred pounds, fell from the sky on people, who cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because it was such a terrible plague.
TEV
This is not preaching, I am giving you the facts written in a book. Now if you believe cave-paintings are much more informative, it's your choice people!
Rev 14:11
11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name."
NKJV

John 15:18-19
18 "If the world hates you, just remember that it has hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, then the world would love you as its own. But I chose you from this world, and you do not belong to it; that is why the world hates you.

John 15:22-25

24 They would not have been guilty of sin if I had not done among them the things that no one else ever did; as it is, they have seen what I did, and they hate both me and my Father. 25 This, however, was bound to happen so that what is written in their Law may come true: 'They hated me for no reason at all.'TEV

Kids are going to get hurt in competitive sports. That's just the way it is. However, their injuries should not be caused by bad acts by unsportsmanlike coaches. This coach should be charged with criminal assault and removed permanently from coaching children. He misses the entire point about the value of sport to children.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
