What will you say to Adam?

Post by OnceConvinced »

Say the bible is true and you actually do make it to Heaven. What will you say to Adam when you meet him?

It was the actions of Adam that is the reason why we were cursed and why there is so much suffering in the world. It was due to his rebellion and his mistakes. So will you want to beat the crap out of him? Will you congratulate him perhaps? Thank him that you got to live on this earth? Maybe you'd like to thank him for all the evil b'stards that are burning in hell right now or scream at him because one of your loved ones is burning in Hell?

What would you say to him?

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.

Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.

There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

I would tell him he should have treated Lilith better and that his views on her where Barbaric. Then I would beat the crap out of him because he was such an idiot.

I know not very complicated but eh. I would have to do this if there was a heaven. I could think of nothing better. Lilith if any of you have studied about her was quite the rebel compared to Eve. And she is of course not mentioned in the Christian Bible. xP

I agree that if God wants all the glory then He also has to bear all the blame.

The fall was not a fall at all but a glorious leap to knowledge of God's philosophy.
It is good to know why one follows.

I am not angry at adam or eve one bit, wrath is a deadly sin best avoided IMHO, they got tricked and led astray by a slippery serpent, (a life lesson for us all, carefull who you vote for and who you buy your second hand cars from)

The fall has given us all the chance to prove our worth and our quality, how much better a reward is when earnt and well deserved rather than plain given, to quote an oft spouted saying: without knowledge of the rough you can never fully appreciate the smooth.

God has a plan and for whatever reason this was all part of it, God gave man authority of the earth, and man gave it straight to the Serpent/satan and its been a rescue mission ever since, a war.

Simply imho God does not just want us, he needs us in order to win it, Adam and Eve got it wrong but me hitting him will not even touch the spanking that God gave, I can hit real hard, enough for any mortal not to want a second, but compared to God its like a bullet to an ICBM.
Gods the judge full stop.

I would say the same thing that I might say to Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn, hey you guys are fictional characters in a story.
There is no fall.
There was no garden or a tree of life.

You indicate the qualities of a life that stem from eating of the tree, knowledge, and then turn around and say it was a mistake.

Which is it?

Chose. Ignorance or knowledge.

How much data do you need to know that to be as bright as cows, is inferior to be as intelligent as man?

Consider the dumb Eloy of the Time Machine as they let their own drown while not knowing that it is good to save them.

Need more data now?

Thanks you for being the only Christian willing to stand up and be counted. I acknowledge you for that.

You don't think God could have come up with a better way of allowing us to prove our worth, one without all the pain and suffering, one that wouldn't result in him having to send the majority of his creation to Hell? Why would he need a test anyway? He knows us all better than we know ourselves, so would know our worth. Even we as humans have ways to allow people to prove their worth without making them suffer.
TrueValues wrote: God has a plan and for whatever reason this was all part of it, God gave man authority of the earth, and man gave it straight to the Serpent/satan and its been a rescue mission ever since, a war.
So you admit that God deliberately set up a test that he knew men would fail? It was his will that he should ultimately curse man?

But why would an all-powerful, all-knowing, perfect God need anything? Is God really that weak that he needs us to help overcome Satan?

Yes, it's obvious that the God of the bible is a very wrathful God (which as you stated is a deadly sin). God is like the parent who would beat the crap out of their toddler simply for stealing a biscuit from the cookie jar.

I guess God is what God is, huh?

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
