All the words and teachings of Jesus?

Post by Revelations won »

Does the Bible contain all the teachings and words of Jesus Christ ?

Does the Bible give indication or evidence that there are more of his teachings that we do not currently have?

What you don't see here is the SALVATION and ETERNAL LIFE that they may lose should they turn their back on the Lord, just for the simple and abrupt thinking that the Lord deceived them in giving false answers to their questions.
Falsehood, sometimes but not always, is one of the tools of the Lord
How can those statements coexist?
For Christians, trial, not deceit, is what comes to mind in issues like the one we discuss now.
If two people who believed in a god you don't believe in were to ask that god for an answer to the same question and get conflicting answers, would you assume that their god was merely giving them a "trial"?

Negative thinking, like deception in this issue, draws away in their mind and is replaced by positive thinking, trials set by the Lord for the latter to see how their faith is affected/shaken by such an act of the Lord.
Are you saying that you believe in a god who will lie to you to find out if you'll accept his lie as true?

Then couldn't it be an indication of Vishnu being behind everything?
Of course not, as if Satan were behind everything! Vishnu is not behind everything, but the Almighty God alone. Vishnu is not the Almighty God, as is Satan.
If Vishnu [hypothetically] were behind everything, would you expect him to act the same way you expect Jesus to act?

even if another religion were more strongly in evidence?
From whose perspective is that religion, per se, more strongly in evidence? Could you mention it specifically, and let's see how evidently strong it is?
A god who gives consistent answers to the same question is more in evidence than a god who doesn't, wouldn't you agree?

What is mutually incompatible to you may not be mutually incompatible to me.
"The next winner of the Nobel prize for literature will be a 42-year-old who was born in Warsaw."

"The next winner of the Nobel prize for literature will be a 52-year-old who was born in Nairobi."

If those prophecies were uttered on the same day, would there be any way for them to be compatible to you?

We asked the Lord how this world will end, and the Lord said, to wit:

The events of Judgment will be terrifying. Everything we see in the universe will be destroyed and melt like ice. All planets, including the world, will explode and collapse. Nothing will remain standing, and everything will be destroyed. All creatures that have died, whether
human, animal, or any living thing, will be resurrected. Those who are alive when Judgment comes will witness the terrifying fate of all. After a few seconds of resurrection, everyone will die again, including those who were brought back to life from their graves. And everyone will die! Then, all will be judged. Those who
are not saved will be cast into a sea of fire, while those who are saved will be in eternal paradise, enjoying peace with God.

Then, after some time, the Lord taught us that this world will not come to an end, but only to depreciations and deformations.

If I were you, what would come to your mind in this situation?
What would come to your mind if you were told that Vishnu had given the same two answers to someone who believed in Vishnu?

It does not mean that falsehood co-exists with the truth, but the Lord uses falsehood, sometimes, to test the faith of His sons and friends (sheep) for the maintenance of their salvation and eternal life, which the Lord rewarded them.
If two people who believed in a god you don't believe in were to ask that god for an answer to the same question and get conflicting answers, would you assume that their god was merely giving them a "trial"?
You may not understand this one on the premise that the one who gave them the answer was the god I don't believe in. God is only one, and He, alone, is behind everything that happens in all the world and everywhere else. But, as you premised, here was the god I don't believe in, who responded to the two individuals with conflicting answers. The god I don't believe in played no role in this scenario since that kind of god is non-existent; the Almighty God alone was behind this scene, in reality. Since the two individuals believed in a non-existent god (the god I don't believe in), God gave them over to their evil practices to worship that kind of god, which the Lord God made to respond to them with conflicting answers. This is the same as God hardened their hearts.
Are you saying that you believe in a god who will lie to you to find out if you'll accept his lie as true?
No, that is non-negotiable to me. I only believe in the Almighty God, whom, even if He lies to me, I will serve and worship until the end with all my heart. Why? The Lord God has proven Himself to us that He, alone, is the Almighty and that nothing is impossible to Him. Lies, as I have told you, are sometimes tools of the Lord in testing the faith of his followers (sons, friends, families of God, apostles, prophets, disciples, etc.). He is the one who rewarded us with salvation and eternal life of our souls, which we have to maintain until the end, and unto eternity.
If Vishnu [hypothetically] were behind everything, would you expect him to act the same way you expect Jesus to act?
Actually, it would be through God that Vishnu would act and respond to whoever the Lord God wishes to. Let's say God will animate Vishnu.
A god who gives consistent answers to the same question is more in evidence than a god who doesn't, wouldn't you agree?
That would only be true in your illusion, since no god exists except the Almighty God alone. If ever you encounter anyone in accordance with your thinking or illusion, God Himself will be the one who is behind that phenomenon.

Sorry, but these are just man-made predictions, which have no bearing on the salvation and eternal life of our souls.
What would come to your mind if you were told that Vishnu had given the same two answers to someone who believed in Vishnu?
See my answer above for this issue. God alone is the one behind this phenomenon.

So because two people who happen not to believe in him sincerely ask a question he will deliberately deceive at least one of them, while two people who do believe in him can sincerely ask a question.....and he will deliberately deceive at least one of them as well?

I only believe in the Almighty God, whom, even if He lies to me, I will serve and worship until the end with all my heart.

You essentially blow off the Bible as a source of guidance, but would you rather Titus 1:2 be wrong about God or would you rather be wrong about Titus 1:2?

Then couldn't it be an indication of Vishnu being behind everything?
Of course not, as if Satan were behind everything!
If you make the god you believe to be behind everything capable of lying, how is there any "satan" to accuse of being "the father of lies"?

Then let's go one better:

"The 2065 winner of the Nobel prize for literature will be a 42-year-old who was born in Warsaw."

"The 2065 winner of the Nobel prize for literature will be a 52-year-old who was born in Nairobi."

If those prophecies were uttered today without the Nobel committee's knowledge and sealed in a time capsule, would there be any way for them to be compatible to you when it was opened in 2065?

God faces each of us with what we believe; in this case, God, through the god I do not believe in, responded to them with conflicting answers to harden their hearts against believing in Him, the Almighty God.
while two people who do believe in him can sincerely ask a question.....and he will deliberately deceive at least one of them as well?
Trial, not deception, is the right word since the Almighty has proven Himself to them beyond a reasonable doubt, and the two followers of the Lord pretty well knew that all along.
"in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago

Sorry, but that verse is simply the opinion of its author. Nothing is impossible with God; why would he gag God in this regard? It takes God for anyone to see God's powers and capabilities in everything.
You essentially blow off the Bible as a source of guidance,
Open your eyes wider than the horizon and see what's happening right now in the world due to the blatant and bold moves undertaken by many in preaching the bible, as a guide to the spiritual quest for salvation and knowing God; the religious denominations created by such acts of men whom God does not send are now in chaos, debating with each other as to who is the right church or not, whether Jesus is God or not, and so on. God sends no one to preach the bible. The Lord God is the only one we, mankind, can come to for our guidance and leader in our lives. Why do you have to overmagnify the bible when its sole purpose is to testify to the Lord Jesus so that we may come to Him for us to have life?
po
but would you rather Titus 1:2 be wrong about God or would you rather be wrong about Titus 1:2?
Titus 1:2, no doubt, is wrong about God in saying, 'which God, who cannot lie,' and I remain firm in my take about Titus 1:2 that it's telling a lie about God.
If you make the god you believe to be behind everything capable of lying, how is there any "satan" to accuse of being "the father of lies"?
I would look at those prophecies as one of the two candidates, prophesied by God, for the winner of the Nobel Prize for literature

It sounds to me like you may be experiencing some sort of conflict between realizing that trying to harmonize everything in the Bible is problematic and still wanting the Bible to be divine revelation. Have you ever talked with a therapist who specializes in difficult religious issues?

What??? Why do you have to harmonize everything in the bible when the Lord Jesus is the only one who can teach us the truth behind the conflicting accounts in the Bible? There is no such thing as difficult religious issues if you are under the shepherding of the Lord Jesus. The Bible, in my perception, is a book of testimonies to Jesus, testimonies that He is real and forever living; hence, we all can come to Him at any time for our salvation and eternal life. The bible has nothing to do with how you may attain your salvation, no matter how divine you treat it; the bible is still not God, who alone is the Savior of all, and He is the one we all need to be saved.

If the Bible has nothing to do with how you may attain your salvation, why would you have to accept it as a testimony of Jesus? Jesus is mentioned in the Quran; why not consider that a testimony of Jesus? Or the Book of Mormon?

The bible, as testimony to Jesus, gives us knowledge that Jesus truly exists. And if you believe Jesus truly exists because of what you read about Him in the Bible, you’ll come to Him for your salvation and eternal life, which only resides in the Lord Jesus Christ. Same thing with the Quran and the Book of Mormon; these are testimonies to God that God truly exists, to whom we all need to come for our salvation and eternal life.

Then why reject the Hindu belief that God [Brahman] exists and that Jesus is an avatar of Vishnu [an aspect of God]? The Bible, the Quran, the Book of Mormon and Hindu belief all say different things about Jesus, but you seem able to accept different beliefs about Jesus.

Since God gave those people to their lewd thoughts, their faith is geared up to an animated illusion of their so-called gods. What would we benefit from a mere illusion? Both are non-existent, but due to the stubborn minds of those people in worshipping Brahman and Vishnu, God allowed them to their lewd minds. In the end, God is still the one behind all these non-existent gods that many continue to worship and serve by various means; God is everything.

Ahhh, you got me wrong in this part. My belief in the Lord Jesus is strictly confined to what we've heard and learned from Him during His 14 years of random and direct shepherding to us starting in 2001. The bible and others that you mentioned are just testimonies that God truly exists, and you don't have to take anything from them for your salvation and eternal life, which you can only attain from the Lord; hence, coming to and calling on the Lord is a must for all, for all to be saved.
