What is a true Christain?

Post by Donray »

Do ALL any person that calls themselves a Christain get to heaven? That is, does it matter what Christain religion you belive in or does God have his religion (Orthodoxy) and all other religions are heresy? For example, JW belive in two gods (one the GOD and the other Jesus as a demigod). There are thousands of Christian religions are all of them correct and it does not matter as long as you belive that Jesus rose from the dead?

What beliefs and rituals must a true Christain practice and belive?

Does a true Christain need to go to church every Sunday?
What about confessing sins to a religious leader?
Does God have any standards for a Christain?

What about Islam? Thus far no one has said why Islam is not a Christain religion.

According to the Jehovahs Witness faith a Muslim cannot be considered a Christian because Muslims do not follow Jesus example as presented in the bible canon.
Christianity is faith that follows the example of Jesus Christ as presented in the bible canon.

For Jehovah's Witnesses it most definitely does matter which religion one belongs to.

Jehovah's Witnesses belong to the Christian religion which is of course the largest religion in the world today.

Presumably, most Christians do exactly the same. There are of course some Christians who profess not belonging to the Christian religion, or any religion for that matter, so clearly religious involvement is not a requirement for one to be a Christian.

So, according to JAs you must follow their beliefs or you go to hell. I guess at least they admit they are the true religion of GOD.

Did you mean JWs (Jehovah's Witnesses)? If so, you might like to know we don't believe in hell*.

But almost all Christians belive in hell and therefore if one not a JW then they will go to hell.

Do Christians need to belive in hell to be a Christian?

No, I don't believe a Christians has to believe in hell to qualify as a Christian.

In fact, although in the past (about 100 years ago) almost all nominal Christian churches taught about a literal place of torture for the dead, where people were literally in perpetual agony.... most of the world's religions adapt their beliefs to public trends, so it has become unfashionable to believe in a literal hell now. They wont usually admit they dont teach hell anymore but theyll usually explain "hell" is just being separate from God.... a kind of emotional "torture". Some now even agree with Jehovah's Witnesses that hell in the bible is just anotther worrd the grave where everyone, (good or bad) goes there. Dead people can't feel anything, they just don't exist anymore. End of story!

Jehovah's Witnesses are practically the only Christian religion that has NEVER believed in hell, even when all the others did. In fact, did you know that our enemies used to call us mockingly "No Hellers" because they ridiculed us for not believing in hell. That was until they too for all intents and purposes, dropped the belief. Few so-called Christian preachers today outside hardcore evangelicals will even mention hell unless pushed into a corner to do so by atheists or Jehovah's Witnesses.

You could say Jehovah's Witnesses turned the hose on hell!

There is belief and there is truth.
A person might believe they can fly by flapping their arms, but the truth will be reveled when they jump off a cliff.

Therefore, a person can believe a person is going to hell however the truth is, there is no hell. If a person accepts the Bible as the truth, I can find the creation of heaven and earth in the Bible, I cannot find the creation of hell.
