Could I ask a favor?
Post #1Hi. I want to ask that only people who truly want to learn more about what the Bible says about living forever in Paradise on Earth to post on this thread. Please. I don't want to argue. I would very much appreciate it if people who think everybody is either going to heaven or to Hell would not start a battle of words here. I hope to hear from people who think that PSALM 37:9-11, and also verse 29, sounds pretty good. Thank you. OWH

Let me restate that: I do not see any relevance of the fact that physical bodies are subject to death to the point I was making in my post, however please feel free to enlarge on your explanation if you disagree as perhaps I am failing to see an aspect to your explanation.
I wish you a most wonderful weekend, regardless of your decision and thank you kindly for sharing your opinion.

The text I shared is describing the post resurrection earthly paradise that the JW claim.
Yet these individuals still do not live forever. Their name and descendants in turn endure forever but not the individual.
Isaiah 66:22-24 New International Version (NIV)
22 “As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me, declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure. 23 From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me, says the Lord. 24 “And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.
Israel was to be saved eternity but no single generation is eternal.
Isaiah 45:17
But Israel will be saved by the Lord with an everlasting salvation; you will never be put to shame or disgraced, to ages everlasting.
Isaiah 48:1
[ Stubborn Israel ] “Listen to this, you descendants of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and come from the line of Judah, you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and invoke the God of Israel— but not in truth or righteousness—

I see, well the Jehovah's Witnesses interpretation of the verses you posted leads us to believe that they do not prove that adamic death (which is what we believe is the cause of all handicap, sickness old age and death) will exist in the paradise . (The same for Isaiah 66:22-24, Isaiah 45:17 and Isaiah 48:1). I realize that your interpretation is different and respect that.
I dont expect you to adhere to the JW interpretation and I'm comfortable with how we view the verses and cannot see any reason why I should change my position; we will just have to agree to disagree.
Best regards,
JW

That's fine. But my response was not irrelevant to your post. JW interpretation acceptes the earthly paradise but adds elements of immortality that aren't feasible or prophecied.
Death is absolutely required in order for such a concept to be sustainable. In fact nowhere is Adam promised everylastin life. It wasn't the default state. He needed to eat from the fruit of the tree of life for that.
It would seem counterintuitive because God said " on the day you shall surely die"
But there are texts that show God delaying or even withholding a judgement he had proclaimed as certain.

Yes I see know I was wrong and I sincerely apologize for saying that.
It seems it was more a difference in inteterpretation. Accordjng to our biblical view of what immortality is (which differs from the mainstream) and OUR interpretation of Scripture, adamic death*, is absolutely NOT required in order for such a concept** to be sustainable.
* we are nearly always refering to adamic death being eliminated in paradise not death per se
**I presume by concept you are refering to what we believe to be the hope of a paradise earth.
