What is meant by the New Testament proclamation that "Jesus is Lord"?
Evidence for his Divinity? Or something else?

"Jesus is Lord"
Post #1 My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

From a literal point of view, LORD stands for YHWH. Lord, stands for Lord.
No, Lord/LORD stands for (I presume when you use the expression "stands for" you are referring to the literal meaning of the word "LORD/Lord/Lord...) ...."Master" , "owner". So when a person in bible times called someone their LORD/Lord, they were simply acknowledging that one's superior position (For example Sarah called her husband her LORD). They were not necessarily identifying that individual as being Almighty God YHWH (Jehovah)or being equal to that one.

Post #12Clearly, Psalms 110:1 shows a difference between LORD and Lord. One refers to YHWH, and the other to the Lord of David.JehovahsWitness wrote:showme wrote:

Is LORD a translation of YHWH?

The translation directly from the Hebrew refers to the "Lord said to my master", which puts the "master" in regards to Lord, not LORD.
.Of David a psalm. Psalms 110:1 The word of the Lord to my master; "Wait for My right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool at your feet." https://www.chabad.org/library/bible_cdo/aid/16331
As for Sarah, she called her husband "lord". (Genesis 18:12)
New American Standard Bible Genesis 18:12
Sarah laughed to herself, saying, "After I have become old, shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?"

Do you know what the Hebrew word for LORD is?
Do you know what the Hebrew word for Lord is?
- Are you suggesting that the Hebrew language has CAPITAL LETTERS ?
Are you trying to say that the same word in the Hebrew language has two different meanings depending on whether the HEBREW word is written in capital or lower case?
If the lowercase Hebrew means "master" what does the UPPERCASE word mean?
