Is Trintiarianism and Jesus-worship compatible with Judaism? The religion of Jesus?
Where are the roots of Trinitarianism and Messiah-worship in the Hebrew Bible "Old" Testament?

Is Trinitarianism compatible with Judaism?
Post #1 My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

Re: Is Trinitarianism compatible with Judaism?
Post #2In Christian theology to say that Judaism is the religion of Jesus is ridiculous.Elijah John wrote: Is Trintiarianism and Jesus-worship compatible with Judaism? The religion of Jesus?

In Christianity Jesus wasn't a mortal Jew. Jesus was the Son of God born among the Jews. So to say that Judaism was the religion of Jesus is to basically deny Christian theology entirely.
Jesus wasn't a Jew. Jesus was the Son of God born among the Jews.
That's the claim behind Christian theology.

Post #4Trinitarianism is monotheistic too. It was invented precisely to avoid polytheism.wiploc wrote:No, Judaism is monotheistic.Elijah John wrote:Is Trinitarianism compatible with Judaism?
Trinitarianism simply claims that Jesus was talking to himself, and praying to himself, and eventually sat at the right-hand of himself when he returned to heaven.
Jesus is just one facet of a multi-personality God. That's the idea behind Trinitarianism.
Trinitarianism was invented precisely to keep Christianity monotheistic.
Is it a logically consistent theology? No. But that's a whole other story.
Remember than in Christianity "With God all things are possible". So if God wants to have a multiple-personality disorder and pray to himself he can do it. God also don't need to behave logically. God invented logic. If God wants to be illogical he can do it. God can do anything he wants. This is what allows apologists to keep making up ridiculous illogical apologies for this religion ad infinitum.

Re: Is Trinitarianism compatible with Judaism?
Post #51. I say no. "Here o Isreal the lord is God". Jesus/Yeshua was a law following Hebrew of Judea. His followers were Jews, he is a jew. He taught repentance and forgiveness and most often of all a return to following the law not traditions of men. So, if we, as christians accept being grafted into Isreal, we are becoming Hebrew. Are we grafted to Zues? Appolo? No, to Isreal, through christ.Elijah John wrote: Is Trintiarianism and Jesus-worship compatible with Judaism? The religion of Jesus?

2. The trinity is a man made device. There is God, the holy Spirit. (read the whole bible, God is spirit) and the son of man. Early followers of the way, were keeping the 7 feasts and the sabbath.(in the synagogue, btw) Consult again the NT here. When Jerusalem fell and Rome scattered and took over, by 85 ad(temple in 70), the original "church" mostly disappeared in fear or death. And swish, bang, boom, the RCC was the authority and still guides even Protestant doctrine, whether they like it or not.
When and why was the Trinity doctrine developed?
Post #6Following Jesus' death, his followers remained observant Jews in a sect called "The Way" or the "Nazarenes" within conventional Judaism (See Acts of the Apostles written in the 80's).
In the mid 80's, some of Jesus' followers began to argue that Jesus was divine himself, a serious sin against the most basic of Jewish teaching "Hear O Israel, the Lord is One"
As a result the Christians were expelled as heretics from the Jewish synagogues.
This can be found in John's gospel. See also "The 12th Benediction.
By the 4th century, the Holy Ghost had been added as a third person of God.
Judaism itself continued as a monotheistic religion until this day.

What do you all make of the attempts to harmonize Trinitarian Christianity with Judaism, in such movements as "Jews for Jesus" and with so called "Messianic Jews".
It's one thing to see Jesus as the Messiah, isn't it quite another and arguably incompatible thing to see him as YHVH Incarnate?
Was such a belief ever part of Jewish Messianic expectation?

What I see is no evidence of a trinity except in man's mind. The Messiah, Ha Mesiach, was to be a human as Christ claimed he was. Could other things be at play? Sure. But judging by the writings we have today, there is little evidence. With only the info at hand, the trinity fails. It is a tradition of men. Something Christ railed against, often.Elijah John wrote: What do you all make of the attempts to harmonize Trinitarian Christianity with Judaism, in such movements as "Jews for Jesus" and with so called "Messianic Jews".

Tradition of men?
Post #9GOD is responsible for the writing: Deut 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God the LORD is ONE! HE is also responsible for the sentence: Gen 2:24 For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and be united to his wife, and they will become ONE flesh.
The Hebrew for ONE is the same word in both. Since the obvious meaning of Gen 2:24 speaks of a UNITY, we are assured that there may be a direct parallel with the word ONE in Deut 6:4 as also referring to a UNITY.
But alas it is the tradition of the rabbis that it refers to the numeral 1, as it may, rather than to a UNITY creating a single-ness as in Gen 2:24, and it has only been by the further revelation of our LORD to us that we have come to understand that the traditions of the rabbis were wrong about both the UNITY of GOD and about the Messiah whom they rejected.

PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

According to the Midrash, the Torah was created prior to the creation of the world, and was used as the blueprint for Creation.[3] The majority of Biblical scholars believe that the written books were a product of the Babylonian captivity (c. 600 BCE), based on earlier written and oral traditions, which could only have arisen from separate communities within ancient Israel,[citation needed] and that it was completed by the period of Achaemenid rule (c. 400 BCE).

Did I ever tell you about my friend named Ralph who is convinced that he is the Second Coming? He’s written a scripture which he claims is all “God breathed." too.
Do you believe him? Why not?
