Show me how God's day of rest was changed by Him. I have studied Theology and read Tanakh, KJ, Strong's, Thomson, NKJ and many others. God says he does not change, why would his day? All of my study, shows that there are lots of beliefs, some right to me , others not. But, since Peter's church worshipped on the Sabbath, why are we not?
Constantine decreed Sunday. Roman church(325) approved and adopted "christmas" and other pagan traditions.
If we follow as Christ instructed, known of this would hold water. I am sure this has been covered before, but I am truly curious.
Why do we no longer keep the Sabbath?

Daniel 7: 25And he shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.

The Sabbath applies to everyone who wants to follow YHWH.
Isaiah 56:
3Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to the LORD say,
“The LORD will surely separate me from his people;
and let not the eunuch say,
“Behold, I am a dry tree.
4For thus says the LORD:
“To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths,
who choose the things that please me
and hold fast my covenant,
5I will give in my house and within my walls
a monument and a name
better than sons and daughters;
I will give them an everlasting name
that shall not be cut off.
6“And the foreigners who join themselves to the LORD,
to minister to him, to love the name of the LORD,
and to be his servants,
everyone who keeps the Sabbath and does not profane it,
and holds fast my covenant—
7these I will bring to my holy mountain,
and make them joyful in my house of prayer;.."

Just that the OT doesn't have anything positive about the one who changes holy days in the law. The bigger question is why would you want to tie yourself to YHWH, whose law doesn't change, and then break the law? It seems you would be better off not having tied yourself to him and his law.

Post #34This is correct. God's laws should not be changed.CSMM wrote: Just that the OT doesn't have anything positive about the one who changes holy days in the law.
I worship JEHOVAH (YHWH) because I love Him. I do my best not break the laws he has asked me to keep (I count on His mercy when because of imperfection, unintentionally do). Christians are not under Mosaic laws so not keeping a weekly Sabbath is not a problem (see Acts 15: 28, 28 compare Col 2:16).CSMM wrote:The bigger question is why would you want to tie yourself to YHWH, whose law doesn't change, and then break the law?

Re: Why do we no longer keep the Sabbath?
It applied in the past to anyone who chose to observe it. It was manditory for all those living within the territory of the Nation of Israel until it was finally abolished 40 days after the death of Christ. It does not apply to Christians.

Christians put themselves under the Mosaic law by tying themselves to YHWH as you seem to say you have. SO, a weekly Sabbath is required, along with the rest of the covenant, as said in Isaiah 56.
Acts 15 is questionable. There is no letter from James that exists as far as anyone has shown. It is beyond belief that no one kept it, or copied it, if it ever existed. He was known to strictly keep the law as James the Just/righteous. His followers kept the law. It is hard to believe he would drop any of it.
Eusebius claimed that Luke did not write anything in Acts he wasn't present for. SO we can see Acts has been highly edited with stories that even contradict Matthew's Gospel. It can't be used as proof for anything. It even contradicts Paul's version of his conversion in Galatians. Then it has Paul contradict his Acts conversion story when he tells it later in Acts.

Romans 7:6 - But now we have been released from the Law, because we have died to that which restrained us, in order that we might be slaves in a new sense by the spirit and not in the old sense by the written code.
Galatians 5:18 - Furthermore, if you are being led by spirit, you are not under law.
So we have you saying one thing and the Bible saying another. Who should we trust?
Or are you? How do we choose?Acts 15 is questionable.

Re: Jesus never revoked Jewish law.
Post #38I will ignore your point about the law, it has amply been demonstrated that Christians are NOT under the Mosaic law, you have not presented any bibilcal evidence to support your view and your repeating that it isn't so changes nothing and certainly I am curious though if you believe there is another God Christians should to quote you "tie themselves to" ?CSMM wrote:

Shouldn't all Christians "tie themselves to JEHOVAH (YHWH/Yahweh)"?

Matthew 7:14" But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it. 15 Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16By their fruit you will recognize them.""
That is probably why Paul complained about spies from James who was the pillar of Jesus' church.
