Jehovah's Witnesses claim to be the only group which practices "true worship acceptable to God" and that all other sects do not.
Seems an extraordinary claim.
Prove it!,... Give us extraordinary proof to support your extraordinary claim.

"True worship acceptable to God"
Post #1 My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

I suggest that you do a little research on the SCIENTIFIC meanings of the terms.
You are looking up the meaning of the word "Theory".. and yes, those are perfectly good definitions. It's just that they don't apply to "Scientific theory" at all. To be precise, in science, the word you are looking for is HYPOTHESIS.. not "theory".
Do a search for "Scientific theory".. and go a bit further than a dictionary... go to websites where they explain science, or perhaps go look in a TECHNICAL dictionary... you might find your answer. Right now, the colloquial definition for "theory" you are using isn't the same as a "scientific theory".
The theory of evolution isn't a guess.
It's an explanation that really works.

I am trying to help you understand the scientific concepts involved.Pierac wrote:
Again... thanks for making my point.... The sun rising in the sky is not a Theory as you said was required/needed to explain this fact!

And that's your mistake right there.Pierac wrote:A Theory is....
a hypothesis assumed for the sake of argument or investigation

abstract thought as in ... speculation

Oh How I love this topic! Thank you, EJ!
I have read where the Biblical description of worship was given. I won't repeat that. What I do want to discuss, is WHO is worship for? Is worship for men or for God? If worship is for men, then men can judge it, but if it is for God alone, then I fail to see how any denomination or person can judge the acts of another, that is for God alone. Whether we sing praises in our hearts, or belt out a hymn in the shower, who would know our intent but God?

Good morning nurse. That's a breezy start to my day to hear how we worship. I agree with you that each renders an account in an individual way. Worship, for me, is the unselfish act of giving to someone else; a seat in a bus, a cup of tea to a beggar, an arm to an old lady. There is something divine in these acts and if a Watchful Eye is taking note, all to the good.Peds nurse wrote: Oh How I love this topic! Thank you, EJ!

Jesus pointed out that you needn't think that placing prayer or incense at the feet of God is the sole way to worship - a cup of water given unselfishly serves as well.
Have a lovely day.

You better NOT stop with the praisin'
If there is a god or goddess out there.. and it knows every little thang....
Just as long as the believer never has a naughty thought.. all is good.
Big brother or big daughter is a watchin' you.
So, I suggest a believer should be praising A LOT...
( I don't have to spend ANY time praising an oh so very watchful eye in the sky like that )

Worship is for men, so that we all can be on a smooth course rather than a collision course. That benefits mankind. If we veer away from worship of our Creator, we will inevitably crash and burn. He tells us how to live so that we can be happy and healthy and safe.Peds nurse wrote: Oh How I love this topic! Thank you, EJ!

Worship is for God only to show Him, with much satisfaction on His part, that His creations are responding with love for Him. He wants us to WANT to love Him, and when that happens of course He is happier.

Some people worship a god so that they won't crash and burn
How odd.

Why oh why would you say something like that?
You don't think that outsiders to your faith can be happy or healthy or safe?
How odd.

As to your first question, isn't it a pretty common realization that people who live a life of selfishness, greed, carelessness....they (MOST of them) are unhappy, insecure, and largely end up "crashing and burning" like an airplane disaster? I have crashed and burned a couple of times.Blastcat wrote: [Replying to post 86 by onewithhim]

Your second question's response: I didn't intimate that a person outside my faith couldn't be healthy and happy and safe. My point was that God gives us laws, not so that we are bound-in-chains to genuflect from morning to evening to polish His ego, but He informs us of His standards and laws for the purpose of our having a happy, healthy, safe life. We can accept His standards or not. I personally believe that it is very difficult for a person to have a truly happy and safe life without employing standards equal to God's standards in their life.

I disagree with you. it does not matter if you are a believer or not people crash and burn if they are believers or not believers. God is not calling the whole world now.
Matt. 5 45 that ye may be the children of your Father who is in Heaven. For He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Some non-believers in GOD(s) say things like "What can GOD give anyone that anyone cannot provide for themselves?" and/or give the impression they are bitter about GOD and go out of their way to make such points - and the impression of their expressions tend to be saying "if anyone needs a GOD they are LESS a person than those who do not", and oft make barely concealed references to the believers state of mind as if believing in GOD is a mental problem - a brain disorder which they need to help the believer deal with by trying to encourage the believer to become a non believer.
To me, this is no different than saying that someone who is depressed and uses medication to help with that depression is LESS than someone who is depressed and finds ways in which to deal with their depression without the use of meds.
The way I see it, if a believer or a non believer is genuinely happy and their happiness is expressed into the world as kindness and love for others, then it does not matter whether they identify as being 'atheist' or 'theist'. It does not matter whether they have a belief in a GOD or not and neither is better than the other in that.
It is a hard thing to actually establish as factual, as anyone can say that they are happy etc and think that theists or atheists FAIL if they do or do not believe in GOD(s)I personally believe that it is very difficult for a person to have a truly happy and safe life without employing standards equal to God's standards in their life.
