Now that Hillary Clinton's e-mails are about to bury her in this election season, the United States is faced with the [strike]good[/strike] diSTINKED possibility of electing a mega-maniac as president. Donald Trump has bragged about grabbing women inappropriately, and a dozen women have come forward to confirm his propensity to force himself (with the aid of tic tacs -- HIS OWN WORDS) into unwanted kissing and embraces.
Both major party candidates are poster ogres for (you name it) ________________.
Interestingly, both candidates are church going Christians (professed religious entities endlessly touting family values). Is something wrong here? This is not how are country started or survived for over 200 years!
So, why are Christians putting up such gross candidates for president? Is the Democratic process in danger of failing?

Post #2Actually our Democratic process has been failing since the very beginning. Moreover, the fact that our country is so hotly divided in almost every election cycle it seems apparent that no one is truly happy with our democratic system. Even during the best elections people often suggest that they only chose the lesser of two undesirable candidates.2Dbunk wrote: Is the Democratic process in danger of failing?
This year seems to be extreme (mainly because of Donald Trump, and not because of Hillary Clinton). Clinton is pretty much your "normal" candidate. Trump is the anomaly.
Yes, Trump is a sex pervert who doesn't respect women. No doubt about that. However, that's actually the least reason that I don't want to see him in the White House. He will also encourage bigotry, racism, and extreme division in our country. He'll bring people like Steve Bannon and Alex Jones from dark alleys of the Internet into the main stream society. He incites and perpetuates absurd conspiracy theories with absolutely no evidence for them, yet he'll gladly stand there and assure the masses that they are true citing "Believe Me".

He's seriously mentally ill and incompetent as a world leader.
He wants to wall-off the USA from other countries, bring all jobs back to America and supposedly make American RICH with high-paying jobs. That's a totally unrealistic goal. We live in a global economy today, we can't just ignore the rest of the world and think that we can become a RICH country by becoming global introverts. He also wants to abolish the EPA and allow the fossil fuel industries to pollute to their heart's content. How else does he plan on re-opening all the coal mines and steel mills?

The fact that he's a sex pervert is the LEAST of his problems.
Moreover, if anyone thinks that Donald Trump wouldn't be far more crooked then Hillary if he were President they've got to be nuts. Just look at how crooked he's already been with his Trump Foundation. He's a crook!
I don't think what Hillary has done has been all that much different from what every other political leader of the USA has ever done. There will always be "pay for play" going on. And anyone who thinks that Trump won't be engaging in extreme "pay for play" can't be paying attention. That's what Trump is all about!
He's all about money. He even says he's not going to do anything for any countries that aren't going to PAY their way. In other words, he's going to run everything on PAY FOR PLAY.
If Trump becomes the president of the USA I might actually start believing in the fables of the "Anti-Christ" because Trump certainly fits the mentality of precisely what that type of character is supposed to be.
One thing I will agree with you one is not understanding how any Christian could support or vote for Trump. How can they not see that Trump is about as anti-Christ as a person can possibly be? Talk about a criminal. Trump is the greatest con artist of all time. He's got half of Americans falling for his absolute lies.
Hillary is no saint, but compared to Trump she's an angel.
If Americans vote Trump in they will be stabbing themselves in their own backs.

PCE Theology as I see it...
We had an existence with a free will in Sheol before the creation of the physical universe. Here we chose to be able to become holy or to be eternally evil in YHWH's sight. Then the physical universe was created and all sinners were sent to earth.
This theology debunks the need to base Christianity upon the blasphemy of creating us in Adam's sin.

HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT IN GOOD CONSCIENCE WHEN YOU CONSIDER HEARSAY WRITTEN OVER TWO THOUSAND AGO AS INVIOLATE TRUTH?. . .The 1st 200 years has no bearing on today when the values of the people are so different from what they were...
What good is truth if its value is not more than unproven, handed-down faith?

Post #5Really, 1. John F. Kennedy2Dbunk wrote: This is not how are country started or survived for over 200 years!
"The list of extramarital dalliances in John F. Kennedy’s black book is impressive: Marilyn Monroe, Angie Dickinson and Blaze Starr. Frank Sinatra, leader of the Rat Pack and a strong Kennedy supporter, fed the president a constant stream of pretty paramours. . . . "
2. James Buchanan
Accused of having a homosexual relationship "with William Rufus King, a former vice-president under Millard Fillmore, for 10 years. Buchanan and King were apparently the talk of the town. Andrew Jackson referred to them as Miss Nancy and Aunt Fancy."
3. Grover Cleveland
He is said to have " had a romance with a young woman named Maria Crofts Halpin. Years later, Halpin accused Cleveland of fathering her son, Oscar." "When he ran for president in 1884, that dalliance came back to bite him, as his opponents rallied around the slogan, “Ma ma, where’s my pa, gone to the White House, ha ha ha. "
4. Franklin Roosevelt
He is said to have "had a lifelong affair with Lucy Mercer, his wife’s social secretary."
5. Lyndon Johnson
He once said, referring to JFK , "I have had more women by accident than he has had on purpose."
6. Warren Harding
It is said that "he was busy carrying on with various women in the White House closet. Besides a long affair with Carrie Fulton Phillips, the wife of his friend James Phillips, Harding was also having his way with Nan Britton, a woman 30 years younger than him. That affair produced an illegitimate daughter."
7. Thomas Jefferson
He was was "rumored as a young man to have tried to seduce his best friend’s wife, Betsy Walker. In Paris, as America’s ambassador to France, he had an affair with a married woman, Maria Cosway. Jefferson also shared his bed with his half-black slave, Sally Hemings."

Surely there's a third candidate and not just these two? Why not vote for option 3?
Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.

Re: SHOULD THE NEXT PRESIDENT BE A POTENTIAL SEX OFFENDER
Post #8Shortly after meeting with evangelical Christians, Donald was pronounced a legitimate, (albeit "baby") Christian and granted their support.2Dbunk wrote:So, why are Christians putting up such gross candidates for president?
The Republican candidate thus vowed to repeal what is called the Johnson Amendment. In thanking the evangelicals for their support, Donald Trump wrote:. . . the support that they've given me has been so amazing and has had such a big reason for me being here tonight.
They have much to contribute to our politics, yet our laws prevent you from speaking your minds from your own pulpits. An amendment pushed by Lyndon Johnson many years ago threatens religious institutions with the loss of their tax exempt status if they openly advocate their political views. Their voice has been taken away.
I am going to work very hard to repeal that language, and to protect free speech for all Americans!
Proposed by Senator Lyndon B. Johnson (D-TX) and passed by Congress in 1954, that law prohibits tax-exempt organizations—including churches and other nonprofits from lobbying elected officials, campaigning on behalf of a political party, and supporting or opposing candidates for office.
Section 501(c)(3) of the tax code bestows tax-exempt status upon nonprofit groups as long as they don’t “participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for office. (The “in opposition to clause was added in 1986.)
Churches fear the loss of their tax exempt status.
==========================================================================
The evangelical associations are willing to accept profanity, vulgarity, lies, racism, prejudice against women, lewdness against women, humiliating the handicapped, and whatever else Donald may want to do in trade for his pledge to abolish the "Johnson Amendment."
Christianity can then compete freely against the NRA, banking, unions, and other powerful groups for control of the United States.
It's all about money and power!
But power can be converted to money.
So in one word it's about money!
Or selling one's soul for money.

Behind closed doors -- behind the private wall of the mind -- one can only imagine what others think or do . . . not a crime. But when Trump opens his mouth and all that spills out as words -- THAT is something else!
So far, the private secrets of Hillary (and her aide) has been pried out into the open by less than legal means. Imagine for yourself what nasty tidbits would be revealed if Trump's emails were to become public.
But it is! We are a nation of sinners but virtuous in the fat that the major majority has faith in redemption (long as we claim it before we die). "We can have our cake and eat it too'" would be, IMO, the way Donald Trump would put it.Yet reading all the criticism of Trump you'd think
