Middle School Girls Forced Into Lesbian Kiss
Post #1"We are fooling ourselves if we imagine that we can ever make the authentic Gospel popular......it is too simple in an age of rationalism; too narrow in an age of pluralism; too humiliating in an age of self-confidence; too demanding in an age of permissiveness; and too unpatriotic in an age of blind nationalism." The way the situation is being described to me it's a very thin line between exploitation of a minor and promoting equal rights between sexuality.
I am yet to hear an answer to my question as to why does it have to be a real kiss? It's similar to pretending to swear but actually swearing in the process. I believe the kiss would cross a line here.
What I was saying more specificly is that any kind of influence from parents on discussing such sensitive matters should be done indirectly not directly.
It would be a lot better to teach education on what the different type of sexualities are and to tell them you view on it as a parent and let them decide for themselves, not ask a boy or a girl if they would be willing to kiss a person of the same gender let alone in front of countless strangers.
Education is the key here, not directing a controversial play. And most importantly, if feeling that those who disagree with your views are discriminating you then going through the proper channels to challenge those people.
And let me just say, the only reason why I'm saying indirect influence over direct is because of the age of the people we are talking about. Middle school students are usually in the age group of 12-15 years old. That's a very young age, they don't tend to know what they really want yet, their beliefs are still developing. How many of us at that age thought we had all the answers? The world was a rude awakening.
Had the topic been about high school seniors or college students then I wouldn't of protested this at all.
