Should witch burning be reinstated under the law? What other religious tests should be given the force of law?richardP wrote: If you are referring to religious dogmatics of a few hundred or so years ago, you also need to consider that the extreme punishment of witches was (sadly) abandoned long before the constitution was written. In my opinion it should be reinstated.

What's the difference between burning Witches (which hasn't happened in CENTURIES and tearing apart viable human beings in their mother's uterus via a D & C procedure? (Which happens every few minutes.
Have you ever seen the remains of a human child torn to pieces by a Doctor or Nurse using a D & C method? Utterly gruesome, barbaric, pitiless.
And do you have the actual numbers of witches that actually met their death via burnings or other murderous ways?
Burnings of a witch and witch-hunts take place today certainly, too. It points in look to Africa. And Utah also had his "witch-hunt" at the BYU in the sixties and seventies. It only was not a women/witches, but homosexuals. Suicide reconciles did of these because of this.

Wankers, witches, and wizards.
Just the thought of them turns me gizzards
Should we burn the damned lot
In flames that are hot
Or freeze them in Arctic blizzards?

Post #26Nickman...that argument has always seemed obscene to me. It is akin to saying that nobody who isn't willing to raise and support a bunch of six year olds has any right to object to the Newtown grade school shooting.Nickman wrote:Are you gonna take care of that child if it was born? I am personally not a fan of abortion, but I understand the right of the woman to decide what she can do with her body. The foetus is a part of her body, end of story.
I'm a man, don't anyone try to tell me what I can or cannot do with my body, or you may find my body being used as a lethal weapon. Oh wait that is the prerogative of governments, isn't it?

Post #28Thats apples and oranges D. If it is ok to euthanize unwanted puppies in the pound then why is it not ok to abort a blastocyst or an embryo?dianaiad wrote:Nickman...that argument has always seemed obscene to me. Re: Burn the Witches!
Post #29Im not for abortion either, but I hate when people try and tell others that they must have a child. If that person is not willing to care for it either then they need close their mouths and put their tongue on the roof. If you cannot offer a positive alternative then don't tell other people they are wrong.southern cross wrote:I don't agree with your analogy Diana, nor do I agree with Nick's contention.dianaiad wrote:Nickman...that argument has always seemed obscene to me. Re: Burn the Witches!
Post #30No it's not. We are talking about the arbitrary ending of human lives, and your contention that if one isn't willing to raise every baby not aborted, then one has no right to object to killing them is EXACTLY like saying that if one isn't willing to take every child saved from a murderer, one has no right to object to the murder. To me it is THE SAME THING.Nickman wrote:

er, who said it was OK? I never did. Begging the question there, Nickman. I'm all for spaying and neutering pets as soon as they are old enough to handle it. I also have rescued plenty of puppies and kittens; considerably more than the city ordinances allow (but I don't tell the city). I'm REALLY good at finding homes for them.Nickman wrote:If it is ok to euthanize unwanted puppies in the pound
Shoot, I once saved a day old litter of kittens whose mother had been killed by a coyote; their owner was going to drown them because he couldn't raise them. I took them, went to the pound and paid the 'adoption fees' for a queen and her SEVEN week old kittens, took her home and saved the lot. I'll admit, finding homes for THAT crew was an interesting experience, but I did it.
So don't pull that one on me. Shoot, I was even a member of Peta before it went weird. weird-er. I lasted two months.

As you can see, I don't think it is. Either one. Try something else.Nickman wrote:then why is it not ok to abort a blastocyst or an embryo?
