Do you have a question for debate?
"Oh, you can''t get through seminary and come out believing in God!"

current pastor who is a closet atheist

I believe Mr. Mad was making a statement and then it would therefore be your prerogative to question his statement if YOU wished to debate it. He would ask you a question on your thread, you would ask a question on his. At least I think that's how it's supposed to work. :-k

"Eli, Eli, why have you forsaken me" -

Trinitarian translation:

"Myself, myself, why have I forsaken myself"

Doctrine of the Trinity:
God is one; — that this one God is Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; — that the Father is the Father of the Son; and the Son, the Son of the Father; and the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of the Father and the Son; and that, in respect of this their mutual relation, they are distinct from each other.

You have mistaken that the Son is the Father.

So God is 1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 ? Is that what you're saying?

If Jesus is not the Father, that means he's not God.

That means the Trinity is false.
