Why Acts 2:38 is NOT for us today ?

Post by dan p »

Hi to all , and since my youth , I have heard that we are to be Baptized for the remission of sins . Lets look at what Acts 2:38 really is saying .

#1 , What is the CONTEXT of Acts 2 ?

#2 , In verse 1 , it is a Jewish feast day .

#3 , Then verse 5 , says the context is all about Jews from Jersualem and from every Nation under heaven , scattered among the Roman empire .

#4 , And in verse 16 , they , the Jews should have known , from the Old Testament because it is written in the book of Joel 2:28-32 .

#5 , thyen in Acts 2:36 , Therefore , let all the house of Israel lnow assurely , that God hath made that same Jesus , whom you have CRUCIFIED both Jehovah and MESSIAH .

#6 , Peter is accusing ther house of Israel , of the murder of their MESSIAH .

#7 , The Jews were cut to the heart , and said , " Men and what shall we do ".

#8 , What shall we do about it , because we killed him and He is dead .

#9 , Peter says to them , " REPENT ( of the murder ) and be Baptized ( in other words , be CLEANSED ) everyone one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the FORGIVENESS of sins ( the forgiveness of the murder ) and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit .

#10 , This form of BAPTISM is the forgiveness of the MURDER of Christ and has N0THING to do with Gentiles today .

Like Romans 8:20 and Ps. 90: 1-3 says. God caused the fall. Our sin body is here for a purpose; without this body of sin man/Adam would of been a robot doing God's Will. God does not want robots/servants He wants overcoming sons.

Still if he was in complete control he wouldn't let me sin! I already know that God caused the fall.

Sure He would. Sin is as much a part of God's plan as Satan, and good and evil. Did not God plant the tree of good and evil? Did not God put Adam and Eve in the garden with a manslayer, a murderer? You already see God caused the fall and it is thought death and sin man needs God. Without death and sin man would be a preprogramed robot/servant. God wants sonship; not servantship.

Without sin there is no reason for a need for a savior.

God had a savior long before there was a sinner.
