Saturday or Sunday?

The world has leaned toward Sunday as its day of worship. But what biblical proof is there for the change?

I think Christians chose Sunday because supposedly that is the day of the resurrection. But I'd say it was also an attempt to separate itself further from Judaism.

Well according to the Bible, the ten commandments make it pretty clear I think.

Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

I have heard that supposedly it was changed in the new testament. But Jesus said in Matthew 5:17"Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Does it matter what religion a person is? Shouldn't we look at the Bible to see what it says? But to answer your question yes.

I'm a progressive Christian so I don't read the Bible literally anyway. I don't think it matters what day of the week people worship on. So I'm probably not a good opponent in such a debate.

How many people use the word "Amen" at the end of a prayer without realising that it represents an Egyptian god ?

From Amaterasu in Japan to the Roman Sol Invictus, each culture has had their SUN deity to worship. It is no different in christianity, the 'Son of God' is really the Sun who is God.

I think they are the moral code of an ancient semitic tribe.
