"I ask sincere conservatives still mesmerized by the cosmetic virtues of the Republican platform this simple question: Why are decent folk like you gawking at made-up streetwalkers when you should be elsewhere, making a home where innocent life is respected, family still means something and God's name is not treated like an obscenity? Why are you still lying to yourselves about the Steele Republicans' intentions, even as their present outrage proves how eagerly they lust after those whose only virtue is their sincere commitment to the corrupt political and moral spirit of our times?"
...
"Some conservatives think they can fix the Republican Party. However, the events of the past 20 years suggest that they are more likely to be manipulated by unprincipled Republican power addicts just looking for their next fix. I think such conservatives are focused on the wrong challenge. America must be our main concern now, not either of these self-serving, falsely labeled factions. People who believe in liberty and the Constitution must not go on being passive consumers of figurehead leadership, produced and imposed by special interests who scheme to deceive and control us, abusing our money and our confidence while in fact they serve only themselves."
Two excerpts from Steele Republicans: Like overage whores"" - a challenging article for any conservatives out that are tired of getting knifed in the back by the party that they vote for/send money to.
The party-before-principle GOP lap-dogs in talk radio and on TV who continue to herd conservatives in the base in to casting votes for the likes of Specter. Schwarzenegger, McCain, Romney, etc. will no doubt continue to urge the base to drink the Republican Kool-aid -- using the same old boogie-man mantra of 'well it doesn't taste as bad as the other poison'.
But perhaps it has gotten bad enough for true conservatives to repent of supporting a party in the lock-grip control of unprincipled sell-outs where the BEST that can result is simply 'socialist-lite'.

Moderator Action
Moved to a discussion forum for lack of a debate question. This appears to be more of a political/religious screed than a serious question for debate. Please review the Rules and Tips on starting a debate topic.
When the moderators feel the rules have been violated, a notice will frequently occur within the thread where the violation occurred, pointing out the violation and perhaps providing other moderator comments. Moderator warnings and comments are made publicly, within the thread, so that all members may see when and how the rules are being interpreted and enforced. However, note that any challenges or replies to moderator comments or warnings should be made via Private Message. This is so that threads do not get derailed into discussions about the rules.

Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
