Its all a bit confusing but my understanding is Base12 is claiming Genesis is referring to the creation OF THREE DIFFERENT UNIVERSES:

DAY #1-3 Universe A
DAY #4-7 Universe B
THE DAY OF GEN 2v4 : Universe C

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. (Genesis 1:1)

This is all that is said about the original creation of the heaven and the earth!

In Genesis 1:2, the earth is reported to have become without form, empty, and dark:

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness covered the surface of the watery depths, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. (Genesis 1:2 CSB)

So in Genesis 1:3, God returns and begins a restoration of a decimated earth to its original very good condition by turning the lights back on:

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:3)

So the earth was originally created by God as very good; it became empty, void, and dark; and God returned and restored the earth to its original very good state and created mankind to maintain the earth in that state.

So there was a creation and a re-creation of the earth.

And there is no contradiction.

Let us now consult the experts regarding Genesis 2:5...

Genesis 2:5 (New International Version)
"Now no shrub had yet appeared on the earth and no plant had yet sprung up, for the LORD God had not sent rain on the earth and there was no one to work the ground"

No plants, no shrubs, no life whatsoever was on the Earth.

Barnes' Notes on the Bible

Not a plant of the field was yet in the land. - Here it is to be remembered that the narrative has reverted to the third day of the preceding creation.

https://biblehub.com/commentaries/genesis/2-5.htm

There you go. Genesis 2:4, 2:5, 2:6, and 2:7 are all referring to the Third Day.

What happened on the Third Day?

Genesis 2:7
"And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

The First Adam was created. O:)
