I attend a nondenominational charismatic church. They were attempting to resolve theological disputes.
They were applying 1 Corinthians 14:2,27, " if someone speaks in tongues... they speak mysteries to God... if anyone speaks in a tongue, let them do it one at a time with no more than three, and let one interpret the tongues." Presumably, the tongues are no longer mysteries to God or to the tongue talkers after interpretation.
Can tongues resolve theological disputes?
Are tongues mysteries to God? Can God understand tongues?
Three people took turns speaking in tongues. Their names are Elmer, Ernie, and Eddie. They call themselves The Triple E's. All three have the ability to interpret. They unanimously agreed on the interpretations. According to The Triple E's, they have resolved all theological disputes, and their church is now a mixture of Quakerism, Mormonism, Pentecostalism, and Puritanism. They'll be resolving Bible discrepancies next week.
Unfortunately, I was excommunicated from their church, so I won't be able to relay how all the Bible's discrepancies were resolved.

We know the Hebrew and Greek words for "Tongues" means to speak in a known (Worldly) language. Now if the LORD had meant tongues to mean a language not of this world, he would have used words like "Babel, "Babler, babbling, but he did not, he used the word tongues.
Following is the meaning of tongues (languages) from a Greek to English Lexicon. A tongue speaks of a body part. Also personified, Romans 14:11, "And every tongue shall confess to God."
A speech, language. A particular language or dialect, as spoken by a certain people, like Italians, Spanish, Russian, etc. Put for anyone who uses a language. To speak in a new language. A discourse, to speak in another language other than the language of that particular nation a person is visiting. In this case, an interpreter is needed. It may be abrupt expressions or phrases. If not understood, the reason may be the person speaking is excited from being inspired or absorbed wholly in adoring communion with God.
When I first moved from New York to Alabama, two men from Louisiana were talking to me in English. but their English was laced with a deep Cajun accent. I couldn't understand a word they were saying. It was English, but an English I had never heard.

Post #3Probably not, at least if listeners don't hear the message in their own language. I would recommend reading the Bible, if there is theological disputes.
I believe he can understand.Perspectivo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 1:28 pmAre tongues mysteries to God? Can God understand tongues?

Post #4Your excommunication aside, it sounds like they’re venturing into highly experimental theology. While it’s unfortunate you won’t be there for their next round of biblical reconciliations, you might have dodged a theological whirlwind!Perspectivo wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 1:28 pm I attend a nondenominational charismatic church.
