Daniel 12:11-12

Post by placebofactor »

Here are my two favorites, drive you crazy verses in the Bible.

Daniel 12:11-12, “From the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that makes desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days (1290). Blessed is he that waits and comes to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days (1335).”

Please do me a favor, 1260 days have nothing to do with the above, so please, don't bring it up and try to squeeze 1290 into 1260 plus the 45 days left over from 1335, it doesn't fit.

The question, “When was the daily sacrifice taken away?” I'll give you a clue, it was not when Antiochus desecrated the Temple around 164 B.C.

Here's a clue to solving the problem. Using the same formula Daniel used for the 490-day prophecy, you can figure out the rest. Here's his formula. 70 weeks = 490 days. Each day for a year, 490 years. Over two hundred years before Antiochus, Malachi wrote, Malachi 1:10, "I (the LORD) have no pleasure in you (the Jews), neither will I accept an offering at your hand."

Even though the Jews were making Temple sacrifices, the LORD was rejecting them, they were nothing but remembering the good old days. That's it, your thoughts.

I believe that the sacrifice was taken away---that is, the sacrifices of animals according to the Law---in 33 AD when Jesus died for our sins.

It's April 31 A.D, not 33. Jesus was born in October of 4 B.C. two years before Herod the Great died in 2 B.C. He was 30 years old in October of 27 A.D. when he was baptized, Luke 3:23. He ministered for 3 1/2 years. Died in April of 31 A.D. I'll get back to you on when the Daily sacrifice was taken away.

The question, “When was the daily sacrifice taken away?” The redemptive plan for the Jews was designed by the Lord as were all temple sacrifices to be instituted by divine appointment: God alone orders his form of worship. The following is extremely important concerning the question, "When was the Daily Sacrifice taken away."

The order of temple sacrifices was made clear to Moses. First, the sin offering on the day of Atonement (Yom Kipper), the holiest day of the year for the Jews. [/b This year it begins on October 11 and ends on the 12th. The Daily Sacrifice and Peace offerings could not be offered until the High Priest performed the sin offering on the Day of Atonement. Only the High Priest of the tribe of Levi was permitted into the Holy of Holies on this one holy day as prescribed by the LORD. Leviticus 16:2, “The LORD said to Moses, --- I will appear in the cloud (smoke of incense) upon the mercy seat.”

Here’s the second problem. The Ark of the Covenant and Mercy Seat were either destroyed for their gold content or taken to Babylon in 599 B.C. by Nebuchadnezzar.

1 Chronicles 36:5, King Jehoiakim began his reign in 610 B.C. “He reigned eleven years in Jerusalem (until 599 B.C) when he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD God. Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and bound him in (chains) to carry him to Babylon. Nebuchadnezzar also carried off the vessels of the house of the LORD to Babylon and put them in his temple at Babylon."

2 Kings 24:13, “And he (Nebuchadnezzar) carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king’s house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of God which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD,”

This offering on the day of Atonement protected the people and the Priests from the wrath of God because of their sins. But only on this one specified holy Day of Atonement could the whole system of other sacrifices be cleansed and rebooted.

So, the Daily Sacrifice and other sacrifices would be received by the LORD only if the sacrifice on the Day of Atonement was satisfactorily presented. But for the past 2600 years, there has been a problem. Without the Ark of the Covenant, and the Mercy Seat, there could not be any acceptable Daily sacrifice because the Day of Atonement did not proceed, as prescribed by the LORD. When the Ark and Mercy seat were destroyed, the Jews used a stone in place of the Mercy Seat.

Conclusion, 599 B.C. is when the Daily sacrifice was taken away. The following was written by Isaiah around 740 B.C. and Malachi around 408 B.C.

Isaiah 1:11-13, The Lord said to the Jews about the time the 10 Northern tribes were taken by the Assyrians. "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs or he goats. Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me --- I cannot endure: it is iniquity, even the solemn meetings."

Malichi wrote around 408 B.C. The LORD is speaking, "I have no pleasure in you (the Jews), --- neither will I accept an offering at your hand."

Now use the formula of Daniel's 70 weeks of years. Each week has 7 days x 70 = 490 days, each day = one year. Begin Daniel's prophesy from the year 599 B.C. 598 being year 1. Now go forward in time 1290 years, Daniel 12:11. Now ask me your questions.

No takers, hummm! It is an interesting study for those who live outside the box. By using the same formula as Daniel's 70 weeks of years. Each week has 7 days x 70 = 490 days, each day = one year. Begin Daniel's prophesy from the year 599 B.C. 598 being year 1. Now go forward in time 1290 years, Daniel 12:11.

1290 years added to 598 B.C. brings us to the year 692 A.D. Guess what happened in Israel on God's Holy Mountain, Mt. Moriah in 692 A.D. The Islamists built their pagan shrine on Jehovah's holy mountains, over the place where the Holy of Holies once stood.

Daniel 12:11, "And the abomination that makes desolate is set up (the Dome of the Rock) there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days (years)." 1290 years using Daniel's formula for the 70 weeks of years, each day = one year.

To be more specific, it was between the 15th and the end of October. Most likely on the fall equinox, exactly 4000 years after the fall of Adam and Eve and their expulsion from the garden on October 23, 4004 B.C.

Dear pacebofactor,

If it does not fit, maybe you should try the formula as preheat dayes = years....

The Roman Empire was crumbling vey 540 AD. Ad 1290 years to the number and you have 1830 AD. Was there anything that happened in 1830?

The major events in 1830 were,
1. building of the railroad
2. Opium war in Asia
3. Queen Victoria's ascent to the throne.

That's it. But I can tell you what happened 1290 years after the daily sacrifice was taken away by Nebuchadnezzar in 599, 598 being year 1.

Islam finished building their pagan temple, the Dome of the Rock to their god Allah in 692 A.D., exactly 1290 years after the Daily sacrifice was taken away. The mortal enemies of God, Islamists, the sons of Esau and Ishmael have built their temple on God's Holy Mountain, Mt. Moriah.

Mt. Moriah was purchased by King David around 973 B.C. when the Philistine wars were raging. David died 3 years later in 970 B.C. That land still belongs to Jehovah, and soon that pagan Temple, the "abomination that makes desolate" will be destroyed. The Dome of the Rock is built directly over the foundation stone of the mountain where the Holy of Holies once stood. It's where the Lord Jesus will establish his throne, and rule for 1000 years.

One problem: From the moment the Ark of the Covenant and Mercy seat were removed from the Holy of Holies by King Nebuchadnezzar, 2 Kings 24:16. From that time forward no sacrifices as required by the law would be received by the LORD. That's the reason the LORD said in both Isaiah around 720 B.C. and Malachi, 1:10, 400 years before the Lord was killed, "I have no pleasure in you (the Jews), neither will I accept an offering at your hand. So every offering the Jews made after 599 B.C. until the Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. was for nothing. All it did was satisfy the Priests, and pleased the people, but not the LORD.

The Jews should have known that Jesus was their Messiah, and that he was the end of the law, fulfilling every aspect of the law. And also, their High Priest after the order of Melchizedek. He as the sacrifice, the mercy seat and mediator would present this last sacrifice to his Father, freeing us all from our bondage, that is if we believe by faith in this finished work.
