Genesis 3:22, “The LORD God said, behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil?”
Who were these words being addressed to?
In the LORD’S Garden of Paradise, his plan of providence and grace was not to be disturbed by the serpent’s craftiness, or by the foolishness of man. So, were these words being addressed to his Son and the Holy Spirit? Or were they addressed to Adam and Eve? Or were they addressed to the serpent in sarcasm when he said to Eve, “You shall be as gods, knowing good and evil;”
Were the words meant to awaken and humble Adam and Eve? Were they to bring them to a sense of guilt, of their foolishness, and bring them to a full understanding of the sin they had committed?
Your thoughts.
Man is become as one of us.

Re: Man is become as one of us.
Post #11The words were being addressed to the Son of God by his Father. Man had become "as one of us" in that Adam and Eve decided to call their own shots and decide for themselves what is good and what is bad. They were their own "gods."placebofactor wrote: ↑Sat Jan 11, 2025 4:41 pm Genesis 3:22, “The LORD God said, behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil?”

Post #12As for the son and the holy spirit I see no mention of either in the garden.

Re: Man is become as one of us.
Post #14Well, this sure has nothing to do with the Christian concept of God.
Christians identify God as being human. I don't care what sect of Christianity one belongs to. Their God or only way to God is through a human. They have made God in their image. And that image of Jesus is important to their belief. Try telling them they can't display it. They'd be furious!! Which is rediculous because their image of Jesus is not real. Isn't it funny how he looks so European? Why is that?
Why? Because Christianity took hold in Europe. Roots in the middle east but went wild across Europe. And they drew their God to look like them. And they still do. They dont even try to be honest about what he looked like. Sounds like they are ashamed of what he looked like. He had darker skin. Didn't have sandy blond hair and blue eyes!

Post #19Okay, if you can't read between the lines, Adam was speaking to the Creator, Jesus Christ. See Colossians 1:16; John 1:3: Hebrews 1:10 etc.onewithhim wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2025 11:39 amYou gave no meaningful answer to the question of who the LORD is that is spoken of, in the Garden? The LORD was walking in the garden, so Adam and Eve "hid themselves from the "PRESENCE" of the LORD God." You don't hide if there is no one around to hide from. Then the LORD called Adam,
And probably said to him; my words, "Get out here, I want to talk to you." Adam turned to Eve and must have said to her, "Now you've done it."

Post #20So you think Jesus speaking to Satan the Devil said "behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil" - Genesis 3:22,
GENESIS 3:22-23a
Jehovah God then said: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad. Now in order that he may not put his hand out and take fruit also from the tree of life and eat and live forever,—” 23 With that Jehovah God expelled him from the garden of Eʹden ...
