To understand the Scriptures, we must understand …
what is said, who (or what) it was said about,
when it was said, and the time period it was referring to.
The Lord wants us to believe …
NOT what someone taught us, but what the Scriptures say!
BEFORE the Incarnation
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God (the Father),
and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God (the Father).” (John 1:1-2)
In the beginning … God the Word was actually the Second Person of the Trinity.
DURING the Incarnation
First: God the Holy Spirit performed a miracle in the virgin Mary’s womb …
producing the fetus who would be Jesus Christ/Messiah (Matthew 1:18,20; Luke 1:35).
IMO, Jesus inherited Mary’s sin nature … so He was “fully man”,
but because He also was “fully God” He was able to overcome His sin nature.
Next: God the Word came down from heaven and became flesh-human-Jesus.
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us …” (John 1:14)
The Word “became” Jesus (when?) … so, Jesus actually was God the Word.
AFTER the Incarnation
“That which was from the beginning, which we have heard … seen …
concerning the Word of life –- the life was manifested … that eternal life
which was with (God) the Father (in the beginning) and was manifested to us …” (1 John 1:1-2)
The Word (God) was manifested to the world as the God-Man, Jesus Christ.
And so, “… His (Jesus’) name is called The Word of God.” (Revelation 19:13)
“And now, O Father, glorify Me (Jesus) together with Yourself,
with the glory which I had with You before the world was.” (John 17:5)
Jesus is speaking here as the One who He knew He really was (God the Word).
“… that they may know You, the only true God,
and Jesus Christ whom You have sent …” (John 17:3)
Yes, Jesus Christ was sent, but NOT sent from heaven …
He was sent into the world as the God-man.
“Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God.” (John 4:2)
“For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not
confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh.” (2 John 7)
Here John is equating Jesus with God the Word …
who came in the flesh as the God-Man, Jesus Christ.

In the Greek at both John 1:1 and 2 Cor 4:4 = the only 2 spots in NT where more than 1 is called God and god--thus in both spots the true living God is called Ton Theon= THE GOD--both the Word and satan are called Theos = god when in the same paragraph with Ton Theon. It was the only way to show the difference of God and god. Translating is the same both spots-god is correct to the Word. At least 20 translations in history has a god at John 1:1-by Greek scholars.
Because all know there is only one God and in trinity belief the second line in simple English at John 1:1 reads--And God( Word) was with God= impossible. That is more than one God.
These are facts.
Jesus has a God just like us--Psalm 45:7--John 20:17-- Rev 3:12--- God does not have a God.

Post #3Why do you disrupt every post that disagrees with your Arian doctrine? Jehovah's You should know that the Witnesses are not allowed by their organization to even take part in these types of forums or discussions with us uninformed, no-nothing Christians, (by your standards). And if they found out, you would be brought before your elders, beaten with a whip, and then shunned. I posted a list of your 141 do's and don'ts, check it out, you have been naughty! But I will answer one of your incorrect comments. Psalms 45:7, "Therefore God (Jesus), thy God (the Father) has anointed you (established his Son as King and Priest) with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." God in both cases is Elohiym, and in both cases recognized as Supreme. So, the Father calls himself God, and his Son God.
Isaia 62:12, "And they shall call them (the Jews), the holy people, the redeemed of the LORD (Jehovah)." And who is the Redeemer of both Jews and Gentiles? Jesus Christ is the Redeemer. Galatians 3:13, "Christ has redeemed (both Jews and gentiles) us from the curse of the law,"

Post #4We quote from many Bibles, as you should have noticed before now. We regularly quote from an assortment of Bible versions. Jesus is not a "little, tiny, winny god." He is a great, mighty, important individual, far from being tiny. He is a King who will rule over the earth in due time. Now he is guiding his congregations to complete the preaching work, concerning his Kingdom. (Matthew 24:14; 28:20)

God gave Jesus all authority to carry out his will.
Are you an ex JW? I know exactly what they teach. The last talk on the matter said just be careful speaking in these sights. Not to speak with apostates, are you one? The weak shouldn't speak in these sights.

Re: Understanding Jesus Christ <GOD> the Word
Post #6Or, as Bible says, the word came down and lived among us, in Jesus.
Bible tells God lives in Jesus. So, if Jesus is among us, also God is among us, because God is in Jesus.
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I tell you, I speak not from myself; but the Father who lives in me does his works...
John 14:10-11
It is also good to notice, God can be also in disciples of Jesus.
…Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

Re: Understanding Jesus Christ <GOD> the Word
Post #9No, in most versions I Timothy 3:16 says "HE was manifest in the flesh." That's a whole different meaning. It refers to Jesus, but no way does it say that Jesus is God. Jesus coming as Redeemer was the "sacred secret" that was then revealed. That is the meaning of the verse.placebofactor wrote: ↑Wed Dec 25, 2024 1:45 pmIsaiah 40:3, "The voice of him that cries in the wilderness (John the Baptist), prepare you the way of the LORD (yhovah, Jesus), make straight in the desert a highway for our God (Elohim, Jesus)." Jesus and Jehovah are two separate persons. Who anointed the Messiah at Isaiah 61:1,2? Who was Jesus praying to? Whose voice came out of heaven at Jesus' baptism? Who did Jesus give all the credit to when he performed a miracle? (See John 11:41,42.) Who did he say he watched and learned from concerning what to do and what to say? (John 5:19; John 12:49,50.) Please answer.
