This article may be far out for some of you, but there may be a few who enjoy exchanging ideas on the subject. Revelation 13:18, “Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man, and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” Or 666.
I love to play with numbers and so have thousands of others concerning the #666. It has been thought that men like Nero, the Popes of Rome, the Catholic Church, Hitler, Stalin, and even Obama were the antichrist. Also, the World Wide Web is a target. In the Hebrew W.W.W., is, 666. What’s your take on the subject? Here’s mine, but first I need to lay out a little history, then let me know what you think.
I have found several highly-regarded individuals who have examined Bible chronology. Several of them stand far above the crowd; the most prominent are Bishop Ussher, John Lightfoot, and Sir Isaac Newton. There are a few differences between them, but the bulk of their research agrees. They intend to illuminate and give meaning to human endeavor by giving Bible chronology a proper historical context.
Bishop Ussher was born in 1561 and died in 1656. He had completed several volumes consisting of some 2000 pages concerning Bible chronology. Then there was John Lightfoot born in 1601, who died in 1700. He published his chronologies in 1642 to 1644. Dr. Lightfoot appears to have agreed with Ussher’s findings. These two men concluded that the first-day concerning time as we know and understand it began at nightfall on Saturday, October 22, 4004 BC, in the anticipated Julian calendar, near the autumnal equinox, at 6 pm.
Ussher and Lightfoot held to the belief that the Earth's potential duration weighted down by man’s fall, is 6,000 years, I throw in 30 years of God’s peace and goodwill toward men, beginning from Jesus' birth in October of 4 B.C. until his baptism in October of 27 A.D. Total, 6030 years. We can add the full time of Jesus' life, from birth to death, 33 ½ years if you like.
So, what’s the meaning of 666? It’s the number of a man. Could that man be Adam and the number speaks to all the generations that follow? Let’s test this theory. Let's say 666 speaks of time, from birth to conception, nine months. Each period is 666 years, so let's add 6 hours, 6 minutes, 6 seconds, or 666.666.
Now take Ussher's date of October 22, 4004 B.C., and add 6 periods of 666.666, or 3999.996 years, or rounded off 4000 completed years from -4004 B.C., we find ourselves on October 4 B.C., the month and year Jesus was born, a possible coincidence.
Let’s now add thirty years of God’s peace and goodwill starting in October of 4 B.C., we would arrive in October of 27 A.D., the month and year Jesus was baptized by John in the river Jordan, at the age of 30, see Luke 3:23. Of course we don’t know the day or hour.
So, what remains are 3 periods of 666.666, or 1999.998 years. Yom Kippur Israel’s most holy day begins on October 10, 2027, exactly 6030 Years from October 4004 B.C. This may be the year and month “Jacob’s trouble’ also called; the great tribulation begins.
You do not have to bring up the verse, “No man knows the day or hour,’ I know all about that. I would like to hear your ideas if you have any new ones. If there is any interest, I will add other findings of mine to the above, they all arrive at the same period of time, but we can save them for further discussion.

This is not complicated. It's quite simple in fact. The number six at times represents imperfection. 666 represents "the wild beast" of Revelation, which is called a "man's number," indicating that it has to do with imperfect, fallen man, and it seems to symbolize the imperfection of the "wild beast," which stands for the governments of men. The number six being emphasized to the third degree therefore highlights the imperfection and deficiency of the wild beast---the governments of men---falling way short of the perfection of God's own Kingdom. (Revelation 13:18)

I agree!

The fall of man started with one man, Adam. We are all his sons and daughters. From Adam to this very moment, we are all under a curse and destined to be without God for all time. That is unless we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior.
