Lake of fire
Post #1It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.

Only spiritual bodied beings can be tormented forever and ever. So if the devil, false prophet, and beast are tormented forever, they are not physical bodied beings which can be hurt by the lake of fire.
Revelation 20:10 (King James Version)
And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
A spiritual being.
This based on what scriptures?
It says the beast and the false prophet are there in the lake of fire. That implies to me that they are there alive. If the fire did not kill them very quickly, then they do not have physical bodies. That means they must have the only other type of body -- which is a spiritual body.
So the beast and the false prophet would be spiritual bodied beings.

How could the beast and the false prophet be literal? Look at the descriptions of them (Revelation 13:1,2; 13:11-13). Has there ever been a literal beast with ten horns and seven heads with crowns on the ten heads? They are obviously standing for something else, such as governments. This is similar to what Daniel saw in a vision---several governments in succession, and described as animals. (Daniel 7:3-8) These were not literal. The vision showed what the governments are like, not that they were literally animals. The same goes for the beast of Revelation 13, and its cohort the false prophet (also described in Daniel, chapter 7: 8).

Is it the same lake of fire where the devil, false prophets are to cast into? That they would be put to death also?(Ezek 28:16)

The beast that the woman rides, and the other beasts mentioned in the Bible, at Daniel, are all symbolic - not of spiritual bodied beings, but of world powers.
So, to claim that the beast is a spiritual bodied being, because of a belief you have, that the lake of fire is a literal lake of fire, is only making claims, rather than allowing the scriptures to be the authority of what is true.
You take care though.

Every human is appointed to undergo their first death.
Being cast into the lake of fire instantly results in the second and everlasting death of those whose names are not written in the Book of Life.
How does your fictional "symbolic lake of fire" result in the death of anyone?
What do you believe the wages of sin is, and how are those wages paid?

Post #227The wages for sinning is the first death---the death we inherited from Adam. The second death is for the willfully disobedient sinners---those who have no intention of obeying God, just like Adam and Eve. The second death is the "lake of fire" which symbolizes permanent death. (Rev. 20:14) Jesus' blood covers the first death. We can't help sinning because we inherited it from Adam. (Romans 5:18,19) That is why Jesus took on death, to pay the wages for everyone, if they would accept it. (John 17:3) If they die, they will be resurrected. Willful sinners---those people who don't care what God wants them to do, will symbolically be cast into the "lake of fire." It is symbolic of eternal death, with no chance of a resurrection.myth-one.com wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 9:32 pmThe wages for sinning is the second death.John17_3 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:07 pmDo you realize that you are determining what is from what you believe?myth-one.com wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2024 2:21 pmRevelation 20:10 (see above).John17_3 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2024 9:17 pmOh. No, the first death is appointed to all mankind, it is not the wages of sin.
Hebrews 9:27
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Jesus suffered His first death and He was without sin.
The wages for our sins is the everlasting second death which is the fate for all whose names are not written in the Book of Life:
