1) Turn left at Jupiter?
2) Buy the right drugs
3) Read "The Joy of Sex" before your next date.
4) Accept Jesus as your Savior

I guess it depends on what you call "heaven."

Lol! wow.

So what I want to know is does it take acts along with beliefs or just belief in itself? I've heard both ends of this, so I figure it's best to ask a few of you.

Die.

Prove me wrong!

Like most theology, the concept of heaven is beyond being proven or disproven. If enough people with enough clout believe it, then it must be true. Evidence is not necessary.
Examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
First Epistle to the Church of the Thessalonians
The truth will make you free.
Gospel of John

Apparently, according to John 3:16 everlasting life goes to "whoseover believeth," with the assumption that "everlasting life" and "heaven" are the same thing. In Revelation (Chapter 20) , at judgment, it talks about people being judged "by their works" and goes on to say that those that do not have their name in the "book of life" will not enter. Until recently, I thought that was a contradiction, but looking closer it does not say that man will be written in the book because of his works. But it would make more sense that he will be listed in the book because of his own lack of works. Belief and faith is to produce "good works", but even still, it is not our own, but God through man, so man has no reason to boast about it. And as a theological thinker, I then connect the dots that belief and faith are different, but one cannot get to "faith" until one believes. The idea of of "one must just have faith" is missing a step and it cannot make any sense to start there. But I guess I am getting onto another subject. So, my answer is the first few sentences, than disregard the rest.

This sounds like the American election process, and in recent times hasn't produced a lot of winning ideas or candidates. .

you get to heaven by believing that Jesus was Gods Son, who died for our sins and rose again......you accept that His death and ressurrection are our salvation.....its not based on what we do, but on what Jesus has done.......we are saved by grace through faith in His atoning sacrifice......"He that believes in Me has everlasting life"....good news indeed!

That is what some would have you to believe. They exalt themselves that believing what they believe – that Jesus is God - is the only way to find heaven.

The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation of scripture, because the kingdom of God is within you. To find heaven, you need only to love your neighbors as yourself.

Do you believe? Are you in heaven?

If your answers are yes and no respectively, then your answer to the question is incomplete.
