WAS JESUS REPLY TO CAIPHAS DURING HIS TRIAL AN ADMISSION TO BEING ALMIGHTY GOD YHWH?

MARK 14: 61-64

“Once again the high priest interrogated him: ‘Are you the messiah, the Son of the Blessed One?’ Then Jesus answered: ‘I am...….’”

Even the most perfunctory reading of Mark's account makes clear that Jesus was admitting to being the MESSIAH not admitting to being Almighty God. The High Priest did NOT ask Jesus if he was God, he asked Jesus if he was the MESSIAH. By saying "I am" he was answering in the affirmative :
To illustrate: If someone were to ask you: Are you King Charles of England ? And you replied "I am" then you are affirming to be the person asked about not the Queen of England or the President of the United States. In a similar way , Jesus was anwering in the affirmative, claiming to be not God but THE MESSIAH, the SON of the blessed One.

BLASPHEMY is scripturally speaking abusively of that which is Holy and includes includes the act of claiming the attributes or prerogatives of God, or ascribing these to another person or thing. (Compare Ac 12:21, 22.). So yes claiming equality to Almighty God YHWH (Jehovah ) would indeed be blasphemous.

Great so when, for you, a not God being called Jesus claims equality with God.

Why isn't that blasphemy?
He did NOT claim equality with God. There are many modern versions that translate Philippians 2:6 differently than the version you rely on. Just one example (and there are many): "Though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped." (Revised Standard Version, ESV, NASB, New American Bible, and many more.)
The 21st century New Testament says: "Although he was like God in nature, he never even considered seizing the chance to be equal with God."

That version goes along with what is said just before and after that verse. It speaks of Jesus being humble and subservient, and the 6th verse of chapter 2 is part of that. Humility.....for which Jesus was exalted by God. He wasn't already exalted, and didn't give himself praise and position.

"God highly exalted him, graciously giving him a name that is above every other name." (Phil.2:9)

Could Jesus have grasped equality?

If he could that means he could be equal. If he could not grasp it then the sentence is meaningless.

What does it mean to you that he could grasp equality but didn't?
