To all true Christians there is nothing more important to our salvation than "The Atonement of Jesus Christ".
Having said that, is it not therefore extremely important to every individual to understand fully what and how the atonement works for our benefit?
What does the atonement do or does not do?
What is required on our part to receive the full benefits of the atonement?
What and when and by whom did the atonement begin?
Can anyone clearly show all scriptures pertaining to the atonement?
I look forward to hearing your "take" on this most important topic.
Kind regards,
RW

Post #662Absolutely! You posed the question "How are we dead to the Law?Brightfame52 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 8:00 pm [Replying to myth-one.com in post #660]

I answered your question with supporting scripture verses. Here it is again:
<================ HERE IT IS AGAIN ================>
Sin is the transgression of God's laws, or commandments:
For sin is the transgression of the law. (I John 3:4)
Under the Old Testament Covenant if a person never violated any of God's laws, he gained everlasting life.
But Jesus Christ was the only human to ever gain an inheritance of everlasting life under that Covenant.
Under the New Testament Covenant Jesus offers His inheritance of everlasting life to those sinners who believe in Him as their Saviour. Therefore, we now fall under the grace of Jesus Christ for our salvation, not our works to fulfill the law.
So sin is dead in its relevance to our salvation:
For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. (Romans 6:14)
If sin is dead, and sin is transgression of the Law, then the Law is dead also in its relevance to our salvation.
Do you understand it now, or have any additional questions?

Re: The Atonement
Post #664I answered the question by showing that a new covenant was created whereby sinners can gain salvation through believing in Jesus as their Savior. That is, we accept the free gift of Jesus' inheritance of everlasting life which He gained by living a sinless human life under the original covenant. Thus, sin no longer prevents our salvation, and the Law is therefore dead in regards to our salvation.Brightfame52 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 10:02 am mythone

You claimed we are dead to the law through the human sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Re: The Atonement
Post #665Has given the Victory !
1 Cor 15:57
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Everyone that Christ died for, has been given the Victory. Its not that He made victory available or that it's offered to one and all upon conditions, that's false teaching, but they are given it and they are in a continual state of it, and it is over sin, death and the devil, and its given through Jesus Christ Our Lord !
That is where their Faith comes from, Christ giving them the Victory The Antichrist followers do not believe this !
1 Jn 5:4
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
You see, everyone Christ died and rose again, by His Resurrection they are begotten again, born again, and that is what begins the victory ! 9

Post #667This phrase often appears in your posts. Exactly who are you referring too?
Did "Christ die for" the believers, or the entire human race, or who?
The Bible says one must believe in Jesus to have everlasting life. That makes salvation conditional.Brightfame52 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 9:09 amIts not that He made victory available or that it's offered to one and all upon conditions, that's false teaching, . .
One has to be born again of the Spirit to gain everlasting life. That will occur at and after the Second Coming. To date, no one has been born again of the Spirit.Brightfame52 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 07, 2023 9:09 am You see, everyone Christ died and rose again, by His Resurrection they are begotten again, born again, and that is what begins the victory ! 9
