Paradise on Earth

When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?

If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.

We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.

You completely misunderstood what I wrote, and no, I'm not going to go over it again. Think over what I posted a bit more. What I wrote is quite clear.

I do understand how someone might believe they are just the body-set. Materialists explain it well enough as they too self identify to being the body set. So if one prefers to think themselves as the body and not the soul, that is what they are, until such a time as they are shown otherwise.

Haven't we learned yet that the "soul" is the complete human (or animal)? It is not something inside a person or animal. Adam became a living soul. See Genesis. (Also, animals are referred to as "souls.")

There are other samples which speak about death in another way...and these samples are verified through what folk have to tell us about their experiences re OOB and NDE, which at least show that when Jesus spoke about death, and he was not speaking about personalities returning to the dust of the Earth, it appears by the witness of those who share their own experiences, that Jesus is correct.

But he WAS speaking about personalities returning to the dust, as well as the body, William. Can you show that he wasn't?

No. I don't even mind if you don't provide scripture to back up your claims because - as pointed out - I do understand how someone might believe they are just the body-set. The bible authors obviously had different concepts about what happens to the personality after the body-set dies, and my mention of what biblical Jesus spoke about that, should be familiar to anyone who reads about it.

What did Jesus say about death?
The dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to YHVH who gave it.

My argument is simply to say that if you want to take the materialist view about that, it is your prerogative, but there is plenty of evidence which speaks about death in another way...and these samples of evidence are verified through what folk have to tell us about their experiences re OOB and NDE, which at least show that when Jesus spoke about death, and he was not speaking about personalities returning to the dust of the Earth. It appears by the witness of those who share their own experiences, that Jesus is correct.
