.
First off, let me preface this by saying the following..
1. As mentioned on another thread, I have many years invested in dealing with Jehovah's Witnesses (JW's), from family, to friends, to strangers. I am very familiar with them and their theology.
2. I am beginning a series of threads attacking their "Christian" theology and doctrine. This one, as titled, deals with Jehovah's Witnesses and their false prophecies.
3. I have beef with, not only JW's, but ANYONE of whom I believe to be spreading false Christian doctrine. This includes, but not limited to...
A.) Mormons
B.) Catholics
C.) World Mission Society Church of God
D.) Hebrew Israelites
Jehovah's Witnesses are just one of many false Christian denominations. But, we are talking about Jehovah's Witnesses for now.
So, the question is ultimately; Why do I feel as if Jehovah's Witnesses are false teachers? There are many reasons, and one of those reasons is their many failed attempts at predicting prophecy.
Before I continue on post #2, keep in mind that future threads in this series will go straight to the gusto, with no preface.
Just FYI.

My one said: "What event did Jesus state would end those "times"?"
Yours said: "what would happen when the gentile time ended".I was referring to the gentile times, as in Luke 21:24.I'm sorry I thought you were referring to the gentile "times" ... what "times" were you asking about? Perhaps in the interest of clarity you can cite the exact verse you are asking about.
Please now answer my post accordingly.

Can we agree to those terms?
If int he terms you mean be a baptized active member of our modern day organisation and by saved you mean survive Armageddon , and then no you dont have to be a Jehovahs Witness to be saved.
Agreed.

There is nothing unscriptural about the terminology. You seem to be attributing a meaning to the terms contrary to intent. May I suggest you do some further research on JWs terminology before you attempt to criticize it.

Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: False Prophecies
Post #96King of kings, and Lord of lords. I do see that you cherry-picked from the references I provided, and I'm not at all surprised by that. But yes, King and Lord (and God) of all, though some do not now and will never acknowledge that -- they do not believe because they are not among His sheep (John 10) -- until His return and the Judgment and after they are sent away, of course, and this is because they will never be repentant of their sin.
And... it is both/and... in a different sense, King of the Jews. But then we have to understand who true Jews (those of God's Israel) really are.

Grace and peace to you.

As if whether a person has the truth is based upon membership of the WTS .

But, the problem is, the WTS is currently misleading millions of people in one what or another, with an overall flawed message that, (in my opinion) is not inspired by God and has no place in Christianity.
And what are the "false Christian doctrine[s]" you believe Jehovah's Witnesses are spreading?We_Are_VENOM wrote: ↑Sun Jul 18, 2021 8:12 pm

Re: Jehovah's Witnesses: False Prophecies
Post #100Sometimes I wonder if our stuff is read at all. We have said many times that we have not claimed to be prophets---people who claim that they are getting their messages straight from God's mouth. We say that we look at the scriptures and try to discern their meaning and then publish what we thought they meant. That is not what a prophet does. A prophet says he got a message from God himself, and many of them will speak of a specific day that something will happen. The WTS has made some good guesses, but has realized the error of trying to pin anything down, so we just go with the "season" of something, which Jesus made plain in his teaching. No other religion, it is true, has gotten the importance of 1914 at all. It was not the end but it was the termination of the influence of the nations over God's people (like bullies on the playground) without God's full involvement. Since 1914 he has had his Son get fully involved and start by guiding his followers to spread the word of the Kingdom throughout the nations before the end comes. (Matt.24:14)tam wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 9:42 pm Peace to you,

In one of your related posts, you referenced,
The article quotes:Did JWs confess in a 1968 article to being False Prophets?
viewtopic.php?p=1038819#p1038819
True, there have been those in times past who have predicted the "end to the world", even announcing a specific date. Some have gathered groups of people with them and fled to the hills or withdrawn into their houses, waiting for the end. Yet nothing happened. The "end" did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying.
So what is the difference between 'them' and the WTS... that 'they' were guilty of false prophesying while the WTS was not?
Peace again.
