When I learned that the Bible speaks of a restored Garden of Eden and the restoration of mankind to the perfection and endless life that Adam forfeited, I was thrilled. Who doesn't want to keep living on this beautiful earth, with our loved ones, and being able to do all the things we love to do---endlessly?
If God said to you today, "When do you want to die?" would you say "now!!"? I don't think very many people would say that.
We CAN live forever here on Earth. The Bible tells us that we can.
Matthew 5:5

That is, that very few believers are "the Bride" and "the city".
Numbers bother God not in the least.
The more the merrier. His will is that no one perishes.
Interesting, not enough to "debate about such things.
Opinions here are a dime a dozen, usually.
Saying little or nothing can be the best option.

Nobody is suggesting God is "bothered" by numbers but If numbers meant so little to God, why are they mentioned so frequently in scripture? (There's even an entire bible book called "numbers" so called because there are so many numbers in it).

For many are called, but few are chosen.” - JESUS CHRIST
Why do you find that idea rather ridiculous?
Gods will is indeed that no one perish but perishing is not the only alternative to being part of the bride class. Many millions (perhaps billions) of people will live on as subjects of Christ and his bride.

Re: Paradise on Earth
Post #1887For many are called, but few are chosen.” - JESUS CHRIST

Arguably the metaphor of a groom and his bride presents the idea of selection and exclusivity. Of all the women alive a man choses just one as his wife. That is not to say all other women are condemed as reprehensible or even undesirable. Neither does it mean that the man would have no further dealings with other women. He may work and associate with others, help protect and teach, indeed love and cherish other women such as his mother, sister, aunts and beloved friends, but that a choice had to be made to exclude all others from an special intimate relationship.
Thus it is with the 144, 000 spirit anointed Christians of the "bride class". Christ loves and cherishes all his sheep, including the "other sheep" of Christians with a hope to live on earth forever, but he has chosen a bride, a "little flock" of co-rulers to be with Him in heaven and rule over the earth. These Christians enter into a special relationship to the exclusion of the rest as with a bride to his groom.
As friends of the bridegroom, we all rejoice !!

Post #1888Checkpoint wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 1:55 amI agree. God's will is that no one perishes. To live forever on Earth is certainly not perishing. Why do people think that unless you go to heaven you are destined to perish? It's good to debate about this, because I believe that you don't quite understand what we JWs are saying. If billions of Christians are all the Bride, then who are they ruling over?onewithhim wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 1:28 pmSomething here is "rather ridiculous", alright.Checkpoint wrote: ↑Mon Apr 26, 2021 8:01 pmAll believers number well into the millions if not billions (including those who will become believers during the Millennium), so to say that they ALL constitute the Bride is rather ridiculous. What it says is clear. However, anything in the OT may be updated in some way by the fuller revelation of the NT.
In this case, especially by Revelation 21-22.

Post #1890Yes, it is clear, but I asked you what YOU think it means, esp. since you seem to believe that ALL Christians are part of the Bride class and are going to be in heaven. Please answer how you resolve Psalm 37 to harmonize with Revelation 21-22.Checkpoint wrote: ↑Thu Apr 29, 2021 5:46 pmNo, I did not.onewithhim wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 1:30 pm Checkpoint, did you answer what I asked about Psalm 37:29?
