Re: When You Stand Before Jesus, Will You Say To Him "You Are Not God?"
Post #2If Jesus is God, then seeing him face to face would remove all doubt, and doubters could be forgiven because nowhere is it stated that believing that Jesus is God is a condition for salvation. If Jesus is not God, then he too would realize that, and there would be no need to even bring up the subject.
Is the assumption of the OP that anyone would be punished for not believing Jesus is God in this life? Is that even Biblical? I doubt it. If it is then I challenge anyone to cite a passage where we are warned that not believing Jesus is God is an offence, or that Jesus or the Father Himself condemns anyone for not believing Jesus is God.
The notion that "Jesus is God" is not something that Jesus preached, and certainly not something that Jesus preached as a condition for salvation.
My theological positions:
-God created us in His image, not the other way around.
-The Bible is redeemed by it's good parts.
-Pure monotheism, simple repentance.
-YHVH is LORD
-The real Jesus is not God, the real YHVH is not a monster.
-Eternal life is a gift from the Living God.
-Keep the Commandments, keep your salvation.
-I have accepted YHVH as my Heavenly Father, LORD and Savior.
I am inspired by Jesus to worship none but YHVH, and to serve only Him.

The Bible says, “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.”—John 17:3
One might even say that knowing that Jesus, whom He sent forth, isn't God but knowing His Father is the only true God is a means to salvation.

We don't need to say it to him. He already knows that he is not God and he knows who believes it. I'm sure he detests being called "God." He made it clear that the Father is the only true God (John 17:3).

Jesus said, it is in vain to worship Him, while teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Do this include the commandments of man Jesus?
Mark 7:7
7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

Post #6That is a quote from Jehovah, the Father, as found in the Old Testament (that Jesus was quoting).Capbook wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 6:49 am[Replying to Elijah John in post #2]Is the assumption of the OP that anyone would be punished for not believing Jesus is God in this life? Re: When You Stand Before Jesus, Will You Say To Him "You Are Not God?"
Post #8Jesus was quoting it from the Father. He often said, when quoting a scripture: "It is written." Just as he said to Satan when the Devil was testing him after his sojourn in the wilderness (Luke 4:8). He frequently quoted from the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament).Capbook wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2024 1:02 amWho said "me" in this verse? At Mark 7:6,7; Matthew 15:7-9, the scripture that you quoted above, from Mark, Jesus said that "Isaiah aptly prophesied about you when he said, 'This people honors me with their lips, yet their heart is far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach commands of men as doctrines.'" This was a direct quote from the prophet Isaiah in the Hebrew Scriptures, who spoke about Jehovah, the Father.

Re: When You Stand Before Jesus, Will You Say To Him "You Are Not God?"
Post #9As Jesus quoted this verse, it just proves that Jesus is God. The "me" here is God the Father and "me" in Mark 7:7 implied that Jesus is God. As it is vain to worship the Father and Jesus while teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Post #10The LORD in Isaiah 29 is Jehovah. It is He who is referred to in the verse that Jesus quotes.Capbook wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:39 amAs Jesus quoted this verse, it just proves that Jesus is God.
