One or some of the following must exist regarding the human soul:
1.) It comes into existence at the moment of meiotic inception in the womb, or in a laboratory container.
2.) It comes from another dimension or place to be inserted into the newly formed human zygote, or possibly at the first breath when birth occurs.
3.) It is a small spark of God Himself which He puts into humans when they arrive at a sentient state of accountability.
4.) Human souls exist only in humans which are chosen by God according to the integrity of their DNA.
5.) God ordains some humans shall be possessed by a prexistent nonhuman evil spirit.
Perhaps this Forum has those who claim to have knowledge of God's Omnipotence, Providence, and Love and will thereby confidently pontificate. Or, perhaps someone will arise with patronizing verbation to hide their lack of thought and information. The best answer will assuredly be germane and to the point without being dismissive or divergent.
A clue to an answer is that God "breathed into Adam" before Adam became a living soul, something not done with animals. Jesus also purposefully "breathed" upon His Disciples. As well, Mosaic Law specifies unborn children are persons to be protected. Strangely, Pagan worship sought and prioritized the sacrifice of infants, as if the infancy contained a certain aspect of being they utilized.

Re: Do Souls Prexist?
Biblically a soul is just another word for person (or animal). It is not a seperate part of a person, it is the flesh and blood living person.
When a person dies they are a "dead soul"

Re: Do Souls Prexist?
Post #3According to JW belief I thought the soul was the part of a person that, if one is lucky enough, god will eventually resurrect and go to Heaven and rule the Earth with Jesus. If not, just what part is resurrected? Because having been interred wouldn't such a lucky body have decomposed leaving nothing to resurrect?JehovahsWitness wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 1:10 pm No.

No that is not a Witness belief. We do not believe a soul is {quote} "a part of a person". I have tried to explain above to the best of my ability, a soul is not a part of the person, a soul is the person.

In any case, just what goes on with those lucky few who are chosen to be resurrected and go to Heaven and rule the Earth with Jesus? Just what is resurrected? Because having been interred wouldn't such a lucky person have decomposed leaving nothing to resurrect?

Re: Do Souls Prexist?
The same way as birth works but in reverse.
If, thanks to a physical procedure, a man and a woman can "make" a whole new person from that which did not preexit anywhere, in any form (ie from nothjng), can God not perform a physical miraculous procedure and re-create that same person ... from nothing ?A year before a baby is born what "part" of it exists? There is nothing in existence anywhere of that child: it does not exist. Then by the miracle of procreation, a sperm fertalizes an egg and from that moment (for a christian) or from the moment of birth for some, a human being comes into existence when a year earlier there was nothjng to give birth to.

Re: Do Souls Prexist?
Post #7Need a pretty good definition of "person." What do you have?
Boy, all I can imagine is a baby being stuffed back into a womb and a male and female having, what, intercourse in reverse? Need a far more more descriptive explanation. And by golly I got one . . . .
So help me out here, from the decomposed remains of a personA year before a baby is born what "part" of it exists? There is nothing in existence anywhere of that child: it does not exist. Then by the miracle of procreation, a sperm fertalizes an egg and from that moment (for a christian) or from the moment of birth for some, a human being comes into existence when a year earlier there was nothjng to give birth to.

What comes next. Not so much decomposed?

Then what?
So there really is no going in "reverse" as you implied,"The same way as birth works but in reverse." and the person isn't really resurrected at all, but simply created again? If, thanks to a physical procedure, a man and a woman can "make" a whole new person from that which did not preexit anywhere, in any form (ie from nothjng), can God not perform a physical miraculous procedure and re-create that same person ... from nothing ?
Gotta point out though that "re-creation" is not the same as "resurrection."
re-creation noun (MAKE AGAIN)
us/ˌriː.kriˈeɪ.ʃən/ uk/ˌriː.kriˈeɪ.ʃən/
the act of making something exist or happen again:

resurrection

the act of rising from the dead.
So JWs don't believe in any kind of resurrection at all, but rather re-creation.

We have no way of knowing. We do know he's never done such a thing before. Adam was formed from dust and Eve from one of Adam's ribs.

To be clear: Atheism is not a disbelief in gods or a denial of gods; it is a lack of belief in gods.

EDITED TO NOTE: In regard to a previous statement you made in post #2: "Biblically a soul is just another word for person (or animal). It is not a seperate part of a person, it is the flesh and blood living person. "
Yet in Matthew 22:37, and Mark 12:30 and Luke 10:20, we read:
"He said to him: “‘You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart and with your whole soul and with your whole mind.’

Which very strongly implies that, like the heart and mind, the soul is a distinct part of a person, and not equivalent to a person as a whole. What say you?
