This question is posed not so much for debate as just for speculation: Now that this momentous day has come and gone, what will become of the ministries of church figures who assured their followers that Trump would remain in the White House?

In as much as many folk don't care about some truths, I see most as accepting any screwy excuse they're told. After all, look at all the end-time predictions the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society has made that never came true. Looking it up, there have been six:

1 1878: End of the harvest
2 1881: A revised end of the harvest
3 1914: The end of human rulership
4 1918: The new terminus
5 1925: Resurrection of the patriarchs
6 1975: The worldwide jubilee

Now normally church folk would be quite embarrassed by all these failures, but nope, in this case they (Jehovah's Witnesses) seemingly let them blow by. In some cases the failure was "viewed as having taken place invisibly," which has to a tough one to swallow. Other times, such as the unfulfilled prediction of 1975, members simply got an apology from the society's leadership. Probably an "Oops." Go figure, because I sure can't.

That's what my source, Wikipedia, says.

Actually, this may have been preceded by the excuse that the event took place invisibly.

Most, if not all, of these people (IMO of course) are spin doctors. They will be able to spin it enough to not loose too much face in the grand scheme of things. I suspect most, if not all of their followers (IMO) have enough 'screws loose' to either accept the 'excuse' given or try more violent attempts to get their 'god given way'. At the very least, they will take ever single instance possible to complain and say 'See, we told ya' so!' while ignoring everything else.

Maybe. But I tend to think that Deut. 18:22 might be pretty handy for the debating tool kit, like in pointing out to those followers that the preachers who told them to accept every word of the Bible are now telling them to accept their word instead of the word of the Bible....

Logic and common sense can fly right out the window when it comes to belief. Look at how many people believe donny was going to build that Mexican wall and, even after he didn't (or even come close) people still refuse to support him, ignoring all the other failed promises.
People are strange, strange creatures when it comes to rejecting even the most remedial logical consideration, or even facts that smack 'em right in the face daily.
