So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
How many times have you spoken the word of God to someone
and it did not give them any faith?
Atheist read the words of God and it does not change them or give them any faith.
Many many people saw Jesus with their own eyes raise the dead and heal the lame, sick and blind
it did not give them any faith nor did it convert them. Many many people
walked and followed Jesus but turned back. Even His own 12 apostles had little faith,
for Jesus was always rebuking them for their lack of faith
and one of them betrayed Him.
So...Who Started That Lie Faith Comes by Hearing the Word of God?
And where and how do you obtain your faith?
Who Started That Lie Faith Comes by Hearing the Word of God?

Post #41Let me try again, then. I have some questions for you:jimtatertayte wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 4:02 pmJust as your thoughts are not God's thoughts,
neither are your thoughts my thoughts. Think as you like it is nothing to me.
1. Do you think that because any measure of faith anyone has is measured out to them by the Spirit of God that this means that humans play no role in getting that measure of faith?
2. If your answer to the first question is "yes," then do you think Romans 12:3 teaches this?
3. If your answer to the second question is "yes," then why do you think so?
4. If your answer to the first question is "yes" and the second question is "no," then what do you base this belief on?

is and was given, measured out to them by the Spirit of Faith which is one of the seven Spirits of God.
Just as all power is from God and measured out to them with it by God.

The fact that you're calling anything in the Bible an error is problematic.
So that would make me saying that the verses in the bible you quoted to me
is in error, even if you believe it is the word of God.
And find it problematic.
True or false?
you do not fully trust God with everything in your life.
So how can you trust a book to which is nothing but wood, an image made of wood?
I do not trust anything other than the Spirit of God.
It has never failed me has always worked for me.
I can fully trust the entire Bible to be true.
True or false? Please.
I do not trust anything or anyone but the Spirit of God.
As for you I do not answer for you.

Post #46It isn't a lie. Faith is the connection of your VOICE with your created existence in the Word of God, the INVISIBLE IMAGE and VOICE of our CREATOR.jimtatertayte wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 8:30 am So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Only chosen believers will believe this to be true once they hear the VOICE of their created existence being spoken through the mouth of a chosen human being called a Saint like the one typing this sentence. Once they hear the Voice coming out of the mouth, Faith is established.

Post #47Let me explain it this way for you:Checkpoint wrote: ↑Sat Sep 19, 2020 3:57 am
How, and how often, do you hear the voice of Jesus Christ?
Go stand directly under a bright light. You will be able to see everything
at all times, nothing will be hidden to you. Then gradually move
away from the bright light. Things will start to become hidden from you
and darkness will come upon you till you cannot see anything at any time.
Jesus is the light, the light of life.
How do I hear the voice of Jesus? Standing in the light.
How often do I hear His voice? At all times in the light.

Post #48It's probably my fault that I don't see an answer to my question there. There are various combinations possible, which one do you think is true:jimtatertayte wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 8:16 pmAll and any faith that anyone has including the devils and fallen angels1. Just as all power is from God and measured out to them with it by God.
A. Recipients decide whether or not they want faith and God measures it out to those who want it.
B. Recipients decide whether or not they want faith and choose how much is measured out to them.
C. God decides who will get faith and God chooses how much to measure out to those whom He chooses to give it to.
D. God decides who will get faith and the recipients choose how much is measured out to them.
E. Something else.
I think you are saying (C) is true, but I don't want to just assume.
Then can you help me understand why you responded to my claim [that Paul was not saying that everyone who hears the message will have faith] with Romans 12:3?jimtatertayte wrote: ↑Fri Sep 18, 2020 8:27 pmI do not know what the author of Romans 12:3 is teaching to them he wrote it too.

These exact words and they mean exactly as they are written...is what I said and believe.
God gives faith to everyone and determines the amount of faith
that He gives to each one. There is no other way to obtain faith except to get it from God.
Now if you do not understand completely this I have said to you
then cut and paste which words you do not understand and I will define them for you.
