36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (Matthew 22:36-40)
17 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. (Mark 10:17-19)
you are a christian if you agree with these laws
or you believe differently?

Re: christianity test
Post #41Now @WeSee for the more important issue (part A is mostly about the "process" of establishing truth between people)
(B) the issue of none being righteous, or which being righteous through Christ, etc.
which is more complex in deeper philosophical context while the other is about the general process
I see from your posts, where you are concerned that I not say or misteach anything
that negates the Bible and God's truth, that you and I have started off on the wrong foot.
Normally I am the one arguing closer to your position,
and normally I am addressing people who are preaching that all humans are sinners,
we are "created in sin" and can never be redeemed. So only Christ Jesus redeems us,
but it sounds too negative, as if God's will and original plan making us in God's image
was perfect before it became corrupted later, and now Jesus provides the redemption necessary to restore
what was God's original design for humanity.
Can we please start over, by first, I can explain where I am coming from,
You can correct me on this part FIRST,
and once we have that communicated clearly,
we can GO BACK to the scriptures you were discussing and
make sure we are both communicating about those verses
in the agreed understanding we should establish first. Let me
spell out how I understand first, and you correct me if this seems inconsistent:
I understand that humanity was created in God's image,
so this means the pure form is one with God and perfect.
But with the introduction of ego/self awareness, where man
became CONSCIOUS of good/evil, and able to feel SHAME
and FEAR, at that point (represented by Adam and Eve
falling from grace in the garden) humans did NOT have ability
or maturity to MANAGE this knowledge. The tree of knowledge
of good and evil is like biting into "a little knowledge as a dangerous thing"
while the Tree of Life offers the fuller understanding of eternal life,
which humans were not ready for.
Gaining enough self knowledge to start abusing and corrupting
knowledge for GREED and SELF interests, causes shame, blaming
on others, killing for jealousy, coveting what is our neighbor's etc.
We know enough to get INTO trouble, but not enough to get OUT.
The OT is generally about what happens when humanity lives
by the LETTER of the law, and knows enough to fight for control
out of GREED or MAMMON, coveting and competing with neighbors
to win in a material sense, but we lose our souls to death and destruction.
The path of the world that leads to destruction is this selfish way.
This greed and coveting over material wealth is letting MAMMON govern
our decisions and relations, so the "wages of sin is death."
The sin of "unforgiveness" further creates a VICIOUS cycle of RETRIBUTION
where ANTICHRIST is abusing authority of law and govt to OPPRESS out
of GREED, and this creates endless hellish war, death and destruction.
Humanity is unable to break out of this vicious cycle, but continues
to repeat "sins" passed for generations. Thus we are "born under sin"
because these conditions are not yet redeemed and resolved, but project forward.
Now, in the NEW Testament, Christ Jesus enters into man's world
incarnated and sacrificed in the physical form, which allows the
vicious cycle of "generations passing sins onto the next" to break.
Jesus sacrifice, as the pure love, will and justice from God's laws
INCARNATED into man's world, killed, but then redeemed
and transformed, represents the collective process of ALL
humanity's sins being redeemed through His Sacrifice.
The step we need to do to GIVE those sins to Jesus is
to FORGIVE and hand them over to God through Christ Jesus on the Cross.
So in forgiving and praying for redemption through CHRIST JESUS,
then all those sins are forgiven and redeemed with HIM.
That is my understanding of the GENERAL process
by which Forgiveness through Christ Jesus allows the
sins or conditions we carry on our consciences to be
handed over to God, and transformed by God's love.
We do not dictate this process, or what form it takes,
but we as Christians understand that God works this out by His greater will.
We take it on faith that by giving all things, all our lives
and thoughts over to God through prayer in Christ Jesus,
then this authority governs all things, all relationships and all lives.
@WeSee are you okay with this general description of
how humanity, with our conditions and flaws, hand those
over to Christ Jesus to redeem.
If you see issues or conflicts with what I de scribe above,
let's start HERE and resolve this so far.
Once we make sure I am not miscommunicating what I understand,
and we are clearly on the same page, then we can go back
and try again with what you were you saying about the other Verses.
Thank you very much!
Sorry for miscommunications
and I hope we can clear that up.
I appreciate your help to do this so we can
address the point you were making with the Verses.

Re: christianity test
Post #42I'd wager people who call themselves Christians don't much care what the opinions of other are in this regard. Should they? I don't know, nor care.cristian_gavrilescu wrote: ↑Mon May 18, 2020 12:18 am 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Besides, the only opinion that one needs to concern themselves is their own. But it is fun to argue I suppose

(Mt. 22:39,40)
That was under the OT Law.
The OT Law ended with Christ according to (Rom. 10:4) (Heb. 7:12 ; 8:6-13 ; 9:15-17 ; 10:9,10) (Eph. 2:14-17) (Col. 2:14-17) (2Cor.3)
How could one become a Christian BEFORE Christ died?
Jesus is speaking in (Mt.22).
