How true is christianity

I find that christianity has too many flaws too it to be true.
First they claim to follow the old testament, yet they do not obey any law which is stated in it. for example idolaterie: they have idols of jesus all over there churches and homes...
an other thing bothers me, in the whole new testament you can find 1 prophecy. Mathieu says that the jewish temple will be destroyed and they will wander the earth forever never to return to their homeland. something in the sort I forgot where it is exactly. Yet Jew's are in their homeland.

All religions are true - to their believers.

Many don't think so.

All religions are perceived to be true to their believers. Truth itself does not change.

What do we attain by proving our own or each others ideas and assertions are false? By subjecting our ideas to the crucible of evidence and reason, we can reduce falsehood and thereby come closer to truth. That is the operational theory behind science and debate.

Christ is as real to Christians as Yaweh is to Judaism and Zeus was to Romans. Religion is a subjective experience and people will respond to it in a way that makes them feel at peace. Who am I to deny this. Though I will always be jealous of that peace.

But do you think Science and religions go together?

I think they can compliment each other to a degree. But when you start trying to override one with the other, they become enemies.

The thing I find most annoying about religion and religious people is they believe they alone have the 'truth' and simply must convert everyone. Ironic. Almost every religion preaches tolerance, respect and neighbourly love. So why can't religious people just leave the rest of us alone? Practice your own faith and live it, but don't cause contentions and strife by claiming yours is right, everyone else is wrong!

You know, human misery, pain, suffering and war are all caused by religion or by people claiming they have been 'instructed' to free the world from sin by cleansing it of sinners, infidles and gentiles. When will religious people actually practice what they preach and live and let live in peace?
