Does the Bible contain all the teachings and words of Jesus Christ ?
Does the Bible give indication or evidence that there are more of his teachings that we do not currently have?
All the words and teachings of Jesus?

Post #91We are dealing only with your skewed premise. Why force yourself to use the word Christian, which you are not privy to regarding their way of life?Athetotheist wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2026 10:07 pm [Replying to OneJack in post #87]
So you get to define "the Christian way of life" for every Christian?Your skewed premise contradicts the Christian way of life. Since they are Christians, they only follow what they have heard and learned from the real and forever living Christ Jesus, not anything from the bible, which is not Jesus.

Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. Do you believe that the Declaration of Independence is Thomas Jefferson?
Barbara Tuchman wrote "The Guns of August". Do you believe that The Guns of August is Barbara Tuchman?
David Abulafia wrote "The Boundless Sea". Do you believe that The Boundless Sea is David Abulafia?
How about my words which you're reading in this post right now? I'm real and alive and I'm writing these words. Do you believe that this post on your screen is me?When I talk to you over the phone, I hear your voice, real and alive, and I'm not reading what you're telling me, do I? I'm hearing what you say, and when I ask you something, you can respond to me right away, don't you? God is real and alive; He is not the bible. Better try another defensive idea.

I use the word "Christian" to refer to people who identify as Christians. We are dealing only with your skewed premise. Why force yourself to use the word Christian, which you are not privy to regarding their way of life?

Re: All the words and teachings of Jesus?
Post #94The Lord Jesus Christ is the one who proclaims who is/are Christian/s, not the people themselves by their self-proclamation. A person becomes a Christian only when the Lord sees him/her pass all the tests He sets on his/her path and proclaims him/her a child of God; hence, it takes the Lord Jesus Christ to become a Christian. Therefore, coming to and calling on the Lord Jesus Christ is inevitable for all to become a Christian.Athetotheist wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2026 1:06 am [Replying to OneJack in post #91]

Post #95Whether I believe that this post is Athetotheist or not matters not, since you are not God, who only matters to all as far as salvation is concerned. The mere fact that you respond is enough for this conversation to move on smoothly, with or without friction, whether or not you are Athetotheist.Athetotheist wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2026 12:59 am [Replying to OneJack in post #90]

Again, whether I believe it or not matters not as far as my salvation is concerned. It's just a simple trivia on the shelf of the national archives. But I do believe TJ is not the Declaration of Independence, per se, as the Lord God is not the bible, per se.Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. So no one thinks the Bible is God.

Then you concede that no one has to equate any of those works with the authors who produced them. The same principle applies to no one equating the Bible with the deity they believe to be the source of it.Again, whether I believe it or not matters not as far as my salvation is concerned. I was raised in a nominally Christian home, though I don't see how that's relevant to the discussion we're having here. How did you become a Christian? What exactly did you do?
