Replying to tam in post #61]
tam wrote: I would suggest that you (and the reader if need be) do a little research on the evolution of the name "Jesus." It is not what Christ would have been called in Israel a couple thousand years ago. In a best case scenario, the name "Jesus" went through a couple different renditions (from Aramaic to Greek to Latin to English).
But in English, the closest transliteration of the name of Chirst would be Joshua - and that directly from the Aramaic. The Hebrew name that Joshua is derived from means JAH saves.
Jesus is very much alive, why would you treat Him as if He were dead? What good things would research benefit my soul do you see, btw?
tam wrote: It looks different in blue letter bible (Jehoshua) because they use the shortened form for Jehovah for the first part of the name, instead of using JAH (from YHWH.)
Something interesting happened during the course of these conversations, however. I had previously mentioned that my Lord showed me how his name went from Jaheshua to Jeshua (or Yeshua, as they would pronounce it in Israel). He showed me this image:
Jaheshua
J'eshua
Jeshua
(I think I often share this with the "Y" instead of the "J" so that it shows the sound)
I know that this is true because my dear Lord showed me, confirming His name as Jaheshua.
But it was pretty cool to discover there was a record of the name "Joshua" going from the Hebrew [Jehoshua] to the later shortened version [Jeshua] in Aramaic.
And again, many prophets had the name of God in their name:
EliJAH (literally - my God is JAH)
ZecharIAH
IsaIAH
How much more so the name of the Son - who came in His Father's name?
And look at the word for salvation (because the spirit led me to look this up; I had no idea beforehand):
The ‘small still voice’ is not God. Why do you believe in him as the Christ when the latter is the Almighty God in reality?
tam wrote: Transliteration: yᵊšûʿâ
Pronunciation: yesh-oo'-aw
Very cool. My Lord simply also has the name of His Father (of God) in His name as well. Jah'eshua.
I did not need to see any of these things because my Lord showed me His name, and I remain in His word. But perhaps it interests someone who is reading.
The fact that he is not God makes me confident he is just one among the many deceiving spirits. He takes you away from the Lord God, whose name is Jesus, whom he denies directly.
The truth about the name of Christ resides only in Jesus. You don’t need any research on the name of Christ because Jesus is very much alive to teach you if you come and call upon Him.
tam wrote: See you make this false accusation, and yet, what can you show is false in what I said?
The evolution of the name "Jesus" anyone can look up for themselves.
The rest that I have shared is backed up by what Christ has said Himself.
You (or whomever you are listening to) are the one who has changed what Christ said himself. Or added to it. Or interpreted it 'away'.
The Lord Jesus confirmed and proved to us that He is the Almighty God; there is nothing more for us to doubt Him. Unless the ‘small still voice’ can nullify Jesus by any means, all he’s telling you is nothing but deceptive revelations that take you away from the Father whose name is Jesus.
tam wrote: Then He would not have needed to grant Himself authority. It would already have been His.
Jesus was in the flesh and could not speak directly as the Father without committing blasphemy against God before the eyes of the Jews?
tam wrote: There is no verse that says 'no one comes to the Father but me"
My Lord said, "No one comes to the Father except throughme."
Okay, my fault.
tam wrote: No.
THAT is how people make words mean whatever they want. Reading 'between the lines' is interpretation. Or "rumormongering" as you like to put it.
He said what He meant.
Read carefully,
“…and among the lampstands was
someone like a son of man, dressed in a robe reaching down to his feet and with a golden sash around his chest. 14 The hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. 15 His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters…â€
‘Someone like a son of man’ is a description of
a human image, as seen by John in his vision. The image is not the Son of God, to whom Jesus dwelt His fullness when He came in the flesh. The mention of the ‘Son of God’ in Rev 2:18 can be viewed as John’s opinion because what he mentioned in Rev 1:13 was ‘someone like a son of man.’ The Son of God was flesh contrary to what John saw, which was spirit.
tam wrote: That IS Christ. The sword comes out of the mouth of Christ:
Yes, that’s Jesus, through someone like a son of man, to whom a sharp, double-edged sword came out from his mouth.
That ‘someone like a son of man’ was Jesus vessel in communicating with John - Jesus’ manifestation.
tam wrote: Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Rev 2:16
I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.†Revelation 19:11-15
That’s Jesus Christ, not the ‘small still voice’ who continues to deceive you he is Christ. The worst deception he duped you with is telling you Jesus is not the name of Christ.
tam wrote: The Son of God came and walked with us as a man for just a little while; then He was once again spirit. Just as He was before He "became flesh and made his dwelling among us."
Again, this is a lie and a rumor mongering because the Son of God was just flesh and the Spirit in him was the Father when the latter came in the flesh. Never did the Son of God become spirit, as you speculate.
tam wrote: Unless you have already been deceived.
No one gets deceived by Jesus because He is the Almighty God. He who puts his trust in spirit, which is not God, is the one who is absolutely deceived
tam wrote: He said no one. No one comes to the Son unless the Father draws them. I take Him at His word.
Okay, it’s your choice. You have no one to come to but Jesus.
tam wrote: You have already done it.
You confirmed he is not the Most High, didn’t you?
tam wrote: Your belief here is incorrect.
The Son of God said:
“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’[d] Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me."
Why?
Because the Father draws them to His Son.
Again, the Son is long gone. Coming and calling upon Jesus, and following Him until the end is our only option to be saved.
tam wrote: Are you saying something in that quote box is incorrect? Or are you just trying to 'hand wave' away something that contradicts what you claim?
Let’s say your opinion, except the biblical passages.
tam wrote: Again, no. I accept what Christ says.
The ‘small still voice’ is not Christ but a deceiving spirit drawing you away from God.
tam wrote: Not when he was in the body of a man. But as the Spirit, yes, He does have eyes as described.
These are the words of the Son of God, whose eyes are like blazing fire and whose feet are like burnished bronze.
That’s John’s opinion, just like yours. Only Jesus has eyes like blazing fire, bear that in mind.
tam wrote: You're concentrating on the description (which is indeed Christ) but you are overlooking the words: The Son of God is the One speaking. "These are the words of the Son of God". If the Son of God were long gone, these could not be words from Him.
Go back to Rev 1:13 to see the error of John in saying the Son of God, who was the vessel of Jesus when he came in the flesh.
