Christian Mental Health

Post by jcrawford »

As a Christian Mental Health practitioner, I sometimes wonder who gets to define and set the standards by which the state measures and determines the mental health of its citizens and schoolchildren.

Obviously, the ready answer on the lips of non-Christians is that state certified psychologists and psychiatrists alone should define and set the standards governing the mental health of all of its citizens. But this raises a problem for Christians who practice their own religious form of mental health therapy since secularists in government are opposed to any competition in the mental health fields from Christians who claim that the many psychological abuses of mental health treatments in US public schools constitute a violation of their civil right to choice in therapeutic treatments of their minds and souls.

Question for discussion and debate: Should Christian mental health be used as a standard for systems of comparitive mental health? If not, why not, and what justification is there for secular humanists in government judging the mental health of Christians if a Christian Mental Health system is superior to any other.

I have made no assertions about mental illness, you have. By the rules of debate, you are now required to provide that evidence.
I have provided evidence and testimony for everything I say. You just don't like the evidence.

Meanwhile, you provide no evidence to the contrary.
You have provided nothing. You evade question or parry them with completely irrelevant or unreliable sources then you pretend that you have answered them. You have answered nothing. Perhaps you should review the entire thread and find where you have answered any of mine, McCullochs, Micatalas, or Cathars questions.

Would jcrawford have us believe that Judas killed himself because he was on prozac?
Jcrawford stands corrected by biblical testimony.
Finally, no evidence was offered to support the first claim. In fact, to the extent that Judas acknowledged Jesus as the Son of God, we could even say he was the first Christian suicide.
Mentally healthy Christians don't go to hell.
I think we can safely assume that these are further examples of false, unsubstantiated, overblown claims. jcrawford seems not to care that the claims he makes are actually true or not, nor if there is any objective evidence supporting these claims.
micatala offers no evidence substantiating the claims of psychiatrists that the mind can be ill or diseased but does biblically demonstrate how the wages of sin lead to mental depravity and death.

Please show where he does that? Where does he dmononstrate who the 'wages of sin lead to mental deprativty and death?

That sounds like a thinly veiled personal attack to me.

It is a presupposed and given fact in their religion.

Show me your psyche and I will bare my soul.
Insufficent answer.
Highly illogical question.
You are making a scientific and medical claim, therefore you have to demonstrate that claim.
I am not making a medical claim but a religious one based on what we know about the pseudoscience and fraud of psychiatry.

I have answered all questions to the best of my knowledge and ability.

Meanwhile, no one has shown any evidence for the existence of so-called "mental illnesses or mental diseases. Frankly, I am not in the least surprised though, since evolutionists, evolutionary psychologists, psychobiologists and psychopathetic psychiatrists who claim to be descended from an extinct species of sub-human African apes, all seem to be suffering from Darwins' Disorder and Dawkins' Delusion.

Micatala adroitly pointed out how Judas Iscariot, the Jew, sold his soul for 30 pieces of silver and then went mad and killed himself.

Nothing personal, you know, so there is no need for delusional paranoia or psychological projection on anyone's part here.

Then your knowledge and ability have been weighed, measured, and been found lacking. Let me know when you can actually answer any of the questions I have raised. Until then, I consider this a dead issue.

You have only made baseless asserstions about psychiarty being a 'psudoscience and fraud'.. and repeated assersions by other people who do not back up their claim with hard evidence. ON the other hand, psychiatry is reconised by the AMA.

That counters your accusations.

By recognizing both psychiatry and abortion as legitimate medical practices, the AMA is about as reputable and honorable an association now as an abortion clinic, insane asylum or the KKK.

By recognizing both psychiatry and abortion as legitimate medical practices, the
AMA is about as reputable and honorable an association now as an abortion clinic, insane asylum or the KKK.
Now you are trying to combine issues by implying fault with one and attributing it to another.
Abortion is a medical procedure and has nothing to do with either reputation or honor.
Evolutionary psychologists, psychobiologists, psychosocialists and psychiatrists are all national socialists.
That is not true and they are not all Nazis either.
That is just a bold faced lie or you don't know what you are talking about.
There is no comparison warranted to the Holocaust or psychology and psychiatry.
Psychiatrists also have MD I believe.
