Many people have debated about this, but I have not found any conclusive
answer yet. Is masturbation sinful?

If you cannot please yourself, how can you please another?

What does that suppose to mean? are you speaking from a Christian perspective? So rubbing my private parts demonstrates that I am able to please others? Not to sound too offensive, but if thats the case then I am good at pleasing others. Please explain!methylatedghosts wrote:If you cannot please yourself, how can you please another?

Here goes. Have you ever heard the saying "like attracts like". This is what I believe to be true for love. If you love others, others will love you - which causes ANothers to love others etc etc etc. And also, if you love yourself, and others see that you do (and I don't mean sexually right here), then they can also learn to love themselves.Madeline wrote:What does that suppose to mean? are you speaking from a Christian perspective? To get to the point.
It is easier to demonstrate love for oneself than love for another, because you know the person you are loving. You know that this love of yourself isn't going to hurt you (still not in the sexual sense). If you can learn to demonstrate love for yourself, it becomes easier to demonstrate love for others.
I believe this also to be true for sex. It is easier to pleasure yourself because you know what you like and how so. If you learn to pleasure yourself, it becomes easier to pleasure someone else.
Make sense?

mmmm....maybe! You maybe able to pleasure yourself sexually, but some people are pleasured sexually in different ways...perhaps different from you. So I don't believe that just because you know how to pleasure yourself (sexually), that you necessarily can pleasure others. And still don't know if masturbation is a sin. I ask this because I am sexually aroused very easily and I don't want to sin by committing fornication. I can easily commit fornication since guys try and pick up on me all too often. So to avoid this I masturbate! Soooo.....does anyone know for sure if this is a sin?

Christians: yes
Most others: no.
I don't think there is even such a thing as sin so I don't believe it is.

Why would it make you feel bad about yourself? While I agree, it can't take the place of the real thing, I don't see how it would make me feel bad if the real thing wasn't available at the time.Udanor wrote:OoOps.... I did not mean to klick on Submit....
