As of tomorrow (Mch 18th 2017) through to the actual events Jehovah's Witnesses will be inviting people to join them on April 11th to commemorate the death of Jesus.
My question is:
- do you object to attending religious services of this kind on principle?
- do you think anything could be gained from attending an annual commemoration of Jesus' death? If so what?

All those things have been going on since biblical times. Paul believed they were all happening in his time. 2000 years later they are still happening. I find it hard to believe that the last days are a 2000 year period. Paul certainly didn't believe they would be. He expected Christ to return in his life time.
Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
