It would not be much of a challenge to create an anthology of writings to illustrate ANY idea / notion / belief. We could, for instance, gather writings from people who believed they had experienced alien abduction and make them into a book (anthology) that would have some common themes; mention existing places; people and events; 'verify' one another; refer to many anonymous people seeing something; claim intergalactic travel; etc.
Would the anthology be considered independent sources of verification?
Since many people tell similar stories (or perhaps copy from or be influenced by one another) should the stories be considered to be true even though they cannot be verified?
Does having famous people tell of alien abductions assure that the stories are true?
Should it raise red flags if all the writers had an agenda of promoting belief in alien abductions?

ANY of the thousands of "gods" proposed, imagined, worshiped, loved, feared, and/or fought over by humans MAY exist -- awaiting verifiable evidence

Re: Gathering writings of people with an agenda
Post #2No, but if someone in the 1950s had said they were abducted by beings who said they were from a moon of a gas giant at Delta Pavonis, who before reaching Earth had visited a smaller planet with life in orbit around Sigma Draconis, and then in the 2010s a scientist found a gas giant in the habitable zone of Delta Pavonis as well as a rocky planet in the habitable zone of Sigma Draconis, this would have gone a lot further, evidence wise, then a mere testimony of an abduction.Zzyzx wrote: Does having famous people tell of alien abductions assure that the stories are true?
