Neither.
I would much rather not be involved in the legal process at all. And if I absolutely had to serve in some legal capacity I would rather be the judge then a lawyer. The idea being that the Judge is supposed to oversee the trial to make sure that it's truly "Fair".
However, even that position can be difficult because a judge needs to go by the law, not necessarily by what he or she conscientiously feels is fair. Often times I don't agree with the law and the "punishments" the law requires for certain "crimes". So ultimately I would rather not be part of the legal system at all.
If I could have my ultimate choice I would rather live in a world where there would simply be no need for police, lawyers, courts, or judges because no one would be doing anything that requires those things.

If I had to choose one, it would be a defense lawyer. I imagine what the most negative consequences are of each should I become succesful at them.
As a defense lawyer, I may cause guilty people to be found not guilty and be set free.
As a prosecutor, I may cause innocent people to be found guilty and be put in jail.
I can live with the thought of influencing the guilty to be found innocent and set free more than I can live with the thought of influencing the innocent to be found guilty and put in jail.

Prosecutor. I could not possibly tolerate having to defend scum who are clearly guilty of horrific crimes.
Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
