If Christ died for one church, which we find in the N.T, then who is right? What is the pattern that Christ left for us to follow, how far have these churches moved from the N.T. church? Why would anyone call themselves a denomination, by a name that God did not give them?
What is the pattern that God has called us to follow, is there one? Can we identify it?
Denominations?

I'll give it a shot.
I think god died for everyone and those who accept him as a personal savior become Christians.
For how denominations were created, I think one day a radical Christian studied a part of the bible and interpreted it one way that was different from others. He then taught it to other people and when they went to church they didn't like they way it was interpreted there. So they got together and started there own church. Example: Baptist
Another way denominations could have started is through kings and queens with absolute power. Kings thought that they had the divine right to rule and so did the country. So they could start any church they wanted and call it what ever they wanted. I don't remember a king or queen making a new Christian denomination but i do remember A new religion made during the French Reign of Terror.
A denomination could be like a race of Human. God died for all humans, there are different races of humans. Then they divide into gender but they are all humans.
As for a path, we can really only go by what Jesus said and what he did.
Hope I helped and didn't send you in the wrong direction.

Simply, people have different opinions about what to accept or believe. There have been offshoots of Christianity since its beginnings. The Gnostics were the first. After the council of Nicean, there were more. Martin Luther's split was one of the most famous.
All in all, people make up the church and people never agree on much.
For one, I am for reading the bible and taking it at face value. There are obvious places where it is not meant to be taken litterally, but for the most part, read, learn, apply. It is that simple.

It is a first class human tragedy that people of the earth who claim to believe in the message of Jesus, whom they describe as the Prince of Peace, show little of that belief in actual practice.
