Is absolutely a pathetic reaction and indictment of the mods.
I've had my say. Honesty is verboten is the message being sent, IMO. (sorry no humble)

Post #3It's not honesty that is verboten, but the rude expression of honesty, as best I can tell.Honesty is verboten is the message being sent, IMO.
It seems posters can say close to anything they wish, so long as they phrase it in the kind of language the mods are comfortable with.

Joey was a great debater and person, however; he was under probation which is like having a microscope on you at all times. I disagree that he should have been banned, but it is not my decision. IMO, had he not been under probation, he would still be here with just a warning. I hope that in the future he can be allowed back, but I am not sure how that works, if it works at all. Does it work, mods?

Let me say that none of us on the mod team wanted to ban Joey and it was not an easy decision for us. It was definitely for me one of the most, if not the most, reluctant ban I've had to do.
But I think if anything, we have been quite gracious towards him. He ranked second in the total number of posts reported. And while he was on probation, we gave him 5 warnings.
Bottom line: it doesn't matter who you are, if you disregard the rules, you will eventually get disciplined.
And no, he cannot return to the forum. The rules prevent a banned user from reregistering.

I'm sorry to see Joey banned as he has been a mainstay here for as long as I can remember and I've always loved his posts. However I can understand the decision. I have taken breaks from here for long periods of time and each time I come back I see Joey is still on probation!
Joey, Joey, Joey...

Society and its morals evolve and will continue to evolve. The bible however remains the same and just requires more and more apologetics and claims of "metaphors" and "symbolism" to justify it.
Prayer is like rubbing an old bottle and hoping that a genie will pop out and grant you three wishes.
There is much about this world that is mind boggling and impressive, but I see no need whatsoever to put it down to magical super powered beings.
