Coping with Cults (What is a Cult?)

Post by Deqsan »

I have a book published by MacGregor Ministries (1983) ISBN 0 9591 367 0 3 author Lorri MacGregor.

A concise book aimed at explaining what a Cult is, how it can be identified and then gives guidence on how to speak to people of these Cults. It covers Jehovah's Witnesses, The Church of the Later Day Saints (Mormonism), Seventh-Day Adventists, and many others.

'Counterfeit Christianity' is probably the best description we can give for a cult. Counterfeit Christianity is an imitation of real Christianity. Bible terms like, "Jesus Christ", "Resurrection", "Salvation" and "Atonement" are used by the Cult, but entirely different meanings have been assigned to these terms by the various cult groups.
Like counterfeit money, when held up to the 'light' false christianity is shown up for what it is!

I will post snipets from the book now and again, but if you would like some specific information about a particular group, I'll do my best to give it to you.
