Marital Politics

Post #1

Post by jcrawford »

Marriage rights are a hot political topic these days. Many sexual, religious and political issues are involved and the topic ought to make for a wide-ranging discussion and debate on such life and death issues as reproductive rights, sexual relations, child-rearing, financial obligations and other legal responsibilites, plus a host of other topic-related subjects which any poster may wish to introduce.

The feminist Kate Millet wrote a book several decades ago called "Sexual Politics." Hopefully we may generate enough information, data, personal POV's, opinions and comments in this thread to provide text for a new book called "Marital Politics."

I know that's a tall order, but if we put our minds to it, I know we can do it. Whether any of us would want the book published or whether it gets edited not will not be up to any of us, since everything we post here is already the published property of our generous website host, "Debating Christianity."

To get the first chapter of our book started then, the first question will be;

What rights do men or women have in marriage or to get married at all?

This, like most things, seems to be beyond you. I don't think anyone is surprised.

Is that all you can say and keep repeating endlessly? I'm not surprised.

So long as it remains the truth, yes. People keep pointing out where you're wrong, you just don't seem to be able to incorporate that into your thinking process. You make ridiculous claims that you can't back up and when you're corrected, you just go back to making the same claim again, verbatim.

Is it any wonder no one takes you seriously?

Are you being serious here?

You and I both take me seriously. Otherwise you wouldn't keep on replying to my posts, seriously. The only way to prove that you don't take me seriously is to stop replying to my posts. Why would anyone seriously reply to posts which no one else but you and I take seriously?

Doesn't make sense.

Seriously.

I can't speak for anyone else, but no I don't take you seriously either. As far as why people reply to you even so theres lots of reasons(fun, spite, the unending hope of getting you to see someone elses viewpoint, etc.)

I don't take you seriously at all, but I'm not going to stop responding to your posts and pointing out the ridiculous things you say, simply because if I, and others, do, it presents the illusion that we cannot respond to your farsical claims.

And besides, it's fun playing "What silly thing will jcrawford say today". We're not taking you seriously, we're all rolling on the floor laughing behind our keyboards.

Good. Join us on the NY State Governor's Race thread, then. We could use a little light laughter in the background.
